Smile my Sierra Cosworth 18 months on

I've had my Sapphire about 18 months now so it was time for a change. I didn't want to change the car drastically so I've had it resprayed, gone for some amber front indicators, lowered it slightly and fitted escort cosworth wheels. I'm still after a set of 2 wheel drive rear lights to finish it.

Some of you may remember it looked like this when I bought it

Then I got it looking like this

Now it looks like this

Just need those poxy lights gone I've bought 5 sets so far and there's been something wrong with every set

I've kept everything so I can put the car back to standard because it's unusual to see standard ones these days, just fancied a change of look. I've now got a new front bumper one the way, R&B motorsport rear shims, another T3 to go on, dark green injectors, 3 bar map sensor, Ahmed Bayoo stage 3 chip & Pace rs500 intercooler then it's off to Mark Shead to be set-up Just need to actually drive it then

Intercooler is small

That's a DVD on it to give you an idea of the size of it!

no, the tyres were a week old, the suspension had partly collapsed whilst on the M1, then fully gave way at (cough) 60 mph (cough) in lane three, not a good trip to southend that one..

She looks lovely mate, well done, the Escort wheels look really good on it

Personally I would have left the clears on the front and got some for the sides too. Also why do you want to get rid of the taillights? Judging by the pic above I think the smoked tails look really good on the car too

Everyone has done the clears and smoked rear lights which is why I'm trying to be different, it's odd though that different means standard

I need luck, I can't find a set that aren't broken every set I see for sale are 4x4 ones

Nice to see saff cossies about, I remenber you getting it..

I think most of us with scoobs have had one in the past.

I had a 2wd just like yours Paul, with 330ish bhp, alongside a standard WRX import about 7 years ago.
Whilst the saff was much quicker, the scoob just drove so much better on a day to day, over B roads type of thing...

Forgot to answer this I do in a way because it was so useable but this is more fun because it's rear wheel drive and requires your full attention.

Very nice, Paul.

I was behind a Cossie today when all of a sudden there was black smoke coming out of the exhaust. Guy pulled over, as did I, and asked him what happened. Said his engine had given up.

Mine should be that sort of power soon It's stage 1+ at the moment which should be 295bhp and 320lbft but I haven't had it tested yet. It's much faster than my old Subaru but it is nowhere near as useable on a day to day basis You can only use the power in perfect conditions safely.

Thanks Darren I've tried to keep it clean and simple. I've always got in the back of my mind that it's now a classic.

Thanks Black smoke sounds like overfuelling so maybe it wasn't all bad, at least I hope not.

It's actually 17 months but who's counting

I've still got the standard wheels, suspension and everything. I just fancied a change and because I'm upping the power soon I thought the bigger wheels and tyres would help with getting the power down.

Hi Paul, I'm good thanks, keeping myself busy as you can see You good? It's hard to now think I came so close to breaking it after I bought it.
