Photo Diary Of My Alloy Refurb. (56K WARNING!!)
I just wanted to post some pics of the work I have recently had done on my wheels. They are 18 inch anthracite Prodrives (not sure of name). They were in an absolutely terrible condition with huge chunks missing, loads of stone chips and generally they were really faded!
I heard of a guy local to me, The Wheel Restorer in Wrexham so I checked out his work and decided to go for it. I have to say, I was amazed with the results!! They obviously look brand new and I cannot believe the difference in colour and how much they had actually faded. I cannot recommend his work highly enough and would certainly advise anyone in the North West or North Wales area to pay him a visit if you're thinking of a refurb.
I payed £255 all in which was very reasonable I thought considering there very poor condition.
All photo's were taken by the man who refurbed. They are clicky too if you want a better look!
Take a look at the pics and watch the transformation...

good results, but for £255 he didnt even take the bloody tyres off
think mine were around £200 all in at "metal majic" in barnsley, and they take the tyres off and rebalance the wheels afterwards.

Thats a pretty good trick they are doing there, they are de-beading the tyres and masking them off while still on the rim so they can still get good coverage around the lip Interesting!

I have to agree they do look good.
I am having mine done on Monday and I am aprehensive as mine are in a worse state than yours.............The wifes fault
The company use the same method, keeping the tyre on in order that they do not have to be rebalanced.

They look better, but TBH they would if you'd done them yourself. I'm pretty sure the places people use near me remove the tyres, because they actually powder coat rather than paint. Thats for 50 quid a wheel. So compared to that it doesn't sound so cheap. But if your happy, thats all that matters. Get the stickers back on though
