cheers mate, ive got more pics but dont want to show the reg of the WR1
The missus has a convertible lol, the WR1 is my toy, it stays in the garage all the time, it only has 15k on it, and the ppp is my daily machine, which does perhaps 400 miles per week, theres 25k on that now.
Love them both,.

I wouldnt show the plate on either. scoobynet would be the first place I'd look if i was a wrong-un wanting to twin a nicked scoob. You get the area a person lives and their plate.
V nice tho, how do they compare when driven, both gently around town and little more urgently

Thanks chaps, yes its cool, private plate on both now.
The black sti, is run through my company, so no worries there.
I was supposed to be writing an article for the lads on WR1 site, but havent yet got round to it.
Im not any kind of expert either, all I can go on is 10 years or more of owning all sorts of performance cars, evo's scoobs, supra, 3 M3's M5's Rs6 etc etc.
So,
The WR1 is MUCH MUCH better than the PPP sti.
The diffs are superb on the WR1 they make such a difference, how the stig only managed the lap time he did, I shall never know.
The map on the ppp is a little lumpy and not as refined as the wr1, having said that there is still room for improvement on the wr1, sadly though I wont touch that as I want it unmolested completley.
The wr1 feels very special on the road, very tight, very firm very sure of itself through the corners, I can only manage 67mph round one particular corner, where I can manage 82mph in the WR1 explain that if you can.
Im guessing at the power of the ppp at 295-300bhp
the wr1 is 322bhp, but I believe it has more torque,
The sti can feel a bit lack lustre in comparison if you drive them both on the same day.
I know there are many tuned impreza;s that could cane my WR1 but I love it to bits, I honestly havent had a car which sounds so dam good on full boost as the WR1 does it kind of scowls at the start then Howls, its a real sweet package, and I dont think many recognise it for being as good as it really is.
So there you have it guys, the WR1 wins hands down, but the ppp sti is a very fast and capable car, im going to try 18" PFF7 rims on it and see if that helps the handling.
I think to any normal chap the ppp would seem a very capable and fast car, and I cannot fault it in anyway, if I could I wouldnt have bought it, but there is room for improvement !
Ive also had a P1 guys, and that was a superb car, it actually felt very fast, again it was totally standard, I rate the P1 as one of my all time greatest cars, right next to the WR1.

Very interesting. Doubt most of us will get anywhere near driving a WR1 so it's nice to hear from someone who can compare it to a 'normal' subaru.

Yes obviously il keep trying that corner, but there is a distinct difference that I am putting down to tyres, diffs and suspension being better on the WR1

Fair play two lovely motors but very similar cars not tempted to have somthing a bit different a 22B or P1 perhaps or dare i say an Evo !! Just seems strange to have two different varients of what is essentially the same car.

Wind your neck in chap.
Your reply is ''a not so thinly disguised response to say - Hey look at me, I haven't got two pennies to scratch my **** with and I'm incredibly jealous.''
Bigman owns a successful company and is in the fortunate position to buy a more expensive car - if he so wished. Wouldn't you agree that this would convey a much clearer message of ''Hey look at me aren't I great,'' than a couple of Imprezas ever could?
The thread was started as an appreciation for the 2 cars, and a comparison of the 2 - some useful information.....for most

Ive had 3 evo's and 8 scoobs one being a P1.
Ive also tried an RS6 saloon, and M5, and 2 E46 M3's.
I have two scoobs now, because I love impreza's and to get to drive one every day is a dream come true.

Nice cars mate. On the STi PPP, you will see performance and handling improvements if you put the PFF7's on it and it will look great on the black car, see "my scooby" for that
On the prodrive pack they recommend the fitment of 18" wheels to take full benefit from the upgrade. On one of the reviews of the 05 variant they clearly felt that the handling was dramatically improved as well. If you are doing this stick the prodrive spring kit on it (this is also on my car) to and then let us know how fast you can take the corner, I bet you can match the WR1

Bigman they are the genuine article and they were purchased from a subaru stealer, I think you can get them off ebay at a slightly better price? They are expensive but you only have to look at your WR1 to see how good they look. I spent weeks trying to find a car that had them on it and I'm so glad I waited because the car looks the business, the guy I bought the car from gave me the standard alloys to but I will never use them, looks way to good with the PFF7's on its feet
I looked for a mint WR1 at the same time but could not quite find what I was hoping for (also prefer black, as its faster ), so opted to look for a special STi. The car is a real credit to the guy I purchased it from (Craig, if you're out there, still loving it mate and taking care of her ) really cherished the car. As well as the ppp it has the spring kit, PFF7's, rear diff guard, mudflaps, gear ****, and valve caps, all prodrive. Brilliant car, hence the reason I travelled from Aberdeenshire to Warrington to buy it!

Brilliant mate, yes what im planning is to buy a brand new set and stick the new set on the WR1 and then put my own WR1 wheels onto the Sti.
Like yourself, my WR1 came from a way down in Kent, I got it delivered up by a specialist transport company.

Great idea, you won't be disappointed. Just posted a couple of pic's for you on your other thread to
I agree a good car is worth travelling for or having delivered, I had one of my CTR's delivered from Coventry, must say I really enjoyed driving the STi back when I picked it up

Question Bigman, off topic a little, I see you are from Elgin, did I see you at the railway bridge in Pitcaple, just north of Inverurie, a couple of weeks back? Someone way sitting at the lights, northbound when I came through, in a WR1.
