Couple more mods to the 2007 Spec-D
Well, I'm really happy performance/sound wise with the car.. so that side of things is staying the way it is for a while. But I always had a couple of wee styling tweeks that I wanted to try out in an effort to make my car a wee bit more individual and different from the 'norm' around here...... I'm sure a few people wont be too big a fan of what I've done, but I like it and thats the main thing!! :P
The wee changes I've made are:
- Type RA-R Style Grill Trim (Only done with red tape at present & if I decide if its staying then it'll be getting painted)
- Cold Air Feed & STi Foglight Cover rather than the standard Front Foglights
- Rear Spoiler removal, I really like the clean look and the most I'll be doing is fitting a JDM A-Line Rear Lip, but seriously considering going without completely.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the car after I washed the outside & engine bay (to remove wax coating) this afternoon:
Glad to hear people's comments, both good and bad.
Cheers,
Grant

Looking good grant, sits lovely and low too.
Question for you re the spoiler. What have you done with the holes....?
I quite fancy the A-line spoiler too, but don't fancy having grommets in the bootlid or getting it welded up and resprayed just yet..!
Liking what you're doing with it, I wonder if the smoothing and cleaning up trend that's currently the big thing in the states will catch on here...?

Oh, looks a bit like mine (so obviously I like it!). I would take the STI sticker off the fog lamp cover since its debadged everywhere else. The A-line boot lip makes it a bit easier opening the boot without damaging the paintwork than being completely bereft.

Now thats a Suby
Been spending time on NASIOC have we
Nice set of mods. The alloys, Rota's? look like Volks CE28N, well amost.
Get the A-Line lip. Thats a must. It needs something to give it that JDM USDM look.

Thanks for all the comments made.. Its been a bit of a mixed bag overall, lots of people prefer the Rear Wing thing, and lots of people prefer the US style smooth look without anything. Personally, I prefer the clean look just now as I've seen Scoobs with big wings for a long time and its a bit different and nice to see one without.
The holes are currently covered with small vinyl patches, but I am waiting for a couple of quotes from bodyshops for filling them and spraying them.
Feel free to photoshop the tinted 03 rears onto my car, I'd be really interested to see how they might look.
Cheers,
Grant

going along the the american theme, spoilerless look needs real low and some serious ground effect kits, some sort of diffuser out back, chunky skirts with cut out behind wheels etc

Grant, I went to H&S today to have the jap box off my 53WRX put on my Spec D. I was told the diffuser would get in the way ? Have you done anything to make it fit cause I don't really want to sell mine.
Mine looks a tad different to yours in the the box is smooth rather than lipped.
