Great pics, which camera you using these days?

Crazy though to see so many people pushing on without a lid.

Wouldn't take the risk even on an airfield day let alone at the ring! I am planning a trip soon once I get the M5 brakes uprated, which weekends are you planning to be out there Gary?

The rest of my pictures are now on the website
:: northloop.co.uk :: we're not playing games ::

Edcase I use a canon 350d

With a bit of luck I will be out there around once a month, dates yet too be confirmed. If you join the northloop forum linked to the web-site you will get all the details.

As for people not wearing helmets I would say that is true of around 70% of people.

I know its essentially a race track but how comes the normal law doesn't apply with regards to helmets? Technically they shouldn't be allowed as its classed as a normal road?

So you're telling me that anywhere in Germany you can wear a helmet on the public roads when driving?

Some quality pics there gutmann I was there that weekend also, and there's a few snaps of cars from our group on there - a scooby, blue Elise and also the 'Gooney bus' which was an old Cortina estate, complete with 1.6L and disabled badges on the back, along with a false pea-shoot exhaust on the back!

Was actually a 300bhp odd cosworth engine in that, with a side-exit exhaust!

I saw that Pug in the paddock actually - must be a great car to take around there!

Okay guys im back,

Had a bit of a mare, but it could of all been worse. The car requires quite an overhaul of the front drivetrain and shes in need of a new braking setup.

The Brembos just arnt cut out for the ring. So maybe AP or Porsche setup is in order.

We got in 5 laps before the bearing let go and we were lapping in the very early 9's...
passing bikes and the odd porsche is a rather nice feeling. I know the circuit very well now and can drive every bend in my head.. i just have to learn how to drive it quickly for real now.

So if anyones interested i'll have a set of refurbished Brembos coming up for sale with Tarox discs and new yellowstuff pads(The pads have done approx 500miles)

Frayz

Subarus always struggle with their brakes on the ring when driven hard. Imagine what yours will be like when you REALLY get on it

I know mate.

Im about to upgrade but want to stay 330mm as i need brakes to fit under 17s.

I dont run 18s on track. I was thinking MOVIT, Porsche or APs?

Any thoughts.???

I was only a passenger in the blue Elise and silver classic scoob in our group, but I look forward to driving it next time! That was my first trip to the ring and it has to be said it was quality - defo going again!

Video of the gooney bus on track here - goes around about 2mins in - your pug is also seen on track in that vid!

If you really want my suggestion?

Save yourself the £2000 it will cost you to upgrade the brakes and buy a cheap hot hatch which is purely to be used as a track toy. I did and it was the best thing I ever did.

The most effective way to brake is as hard as possible for as little time as possible.

Hence, those that brake for longer with more caution will cause there brakes to work much harder.

That said, I still ruin the Clio brakes every few days.
