Foz STi
Hey Folks,
Already posted on the Forester Owners Club but wanted to show it to you folks over here
Had it about 2 weeks now, it's an MY06 Forester STi with the Litchfields Performance Pack (Sports CAT, Miltek BB and remapped ECU - 330 BHP/330 lb/ft )
It's just fantastic (and will be better once I sort out a few rattles and replace the Jap head unit - fm expanders suck )
Came from this :icon_cool: MY05 Impreza Sportswagon with PPP.

Very nice. Ive just had a forester myself although not an sti. How loud is the miltek BB? I fancy a new BB for mine. I want something like the scoobysport/tsl 4" bb I had on my previous scoobs.
cheers.

shrops Paul,
I would say the miltek BB is very similar in volume to my original classic Impreza with original Scoobysport BB. It's defo louder than my last car (WRX Sportswagen with PPP).
It's not too audible on cruise but ramps up noticeably on boost.

Used to drive a WR Blue MY03 STi, then had a Akoya Silver A3 S-Line and I've now got a White MY07 STi. I used to be heading into westhill about 07:00 but I am now working at Stoneywood so only head out to Westhill now and again for meetings (Well untill our new office is built next year, then it's back out to Westhill).
Shouldn't be too difficult to spot each other. There aren't many Black Forester STi or White MY07 STi

Now owning both an MY99 turbo saloon, and an MY00 forester turbo, I'd swap the impreza for another Fozzy any day!
Obviously, an STi such as yours would be fantastic, but I think I'd probably de-badge it for a bit more stealth.
Jealous, moi?

Marc .. will keep an eye out white - nice choice. Love Impreza's in white.
ethanrob ... you don't say which Impreza to compare it too, WRX or STi. Classic or NewAge.
I have had a classic wagon (MY00) and a newage wagon (MY05+PPP). My main gripe with the MY05 was a bit too much roll on turn in and it felt a bit squishy. I found it hard to drive smoothly around B-roads as I always felt I was waiting for the suspension to catch up .. I'm sure that's my driving rather than the car but always wanted something that cornered flatter.
The Foz corners flatter and doesn't seem to have much of a roll on turn in. I don't think it'll be as sharp as an STi Impreza but by no means is it a rolly-polly high centre of gravity 4x4.
If I had to cover the same B-road in my last car or the Foz I'd get there MUCH quicker in the Foz.
For someone looking to change from a Scoob to a Foz (especially an STi) I wouldn't worry too much about the handling .. it's pretty damn good
Does that help?

mark,
All I can say is if you get the chance go try one .. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the performance/handling, it's nowhere near as barge like as any of the other SUV's out there.
I'm sure you may have seen VBH on youtube comparing the STi Impreza and Foz (if not it's not difficult to find). It's not that much slower than the Imp rounds the bends and that's without a DCCD.
I love mine and can't see me going back to Imp's after this

cheers mark,
Pop a new thread up if you get a hold of one or manage to have a wee test drive.
Regards and good luck fella
Oh ....
MPC-GTR, what an awesome Foz you have there I'd have had WR Blue if my MY05 hadn't been WR Blue (not that I didn't like the colour just wanted a change).
How have you found your STi ownership so far .. any grumbles ?

Avalyn,
I've been generally very happy with the Forester. Its been reliable and it is a fun car to drive and surprisingly quick. I was fortunate enough to get the ex-demo litchfield model which has full leather interior, the aero pack the performance upgrade etc. I have had a hyperflow intercooler and further remap done it it makes nearly 350hp now. Niggles include the noise when at high speed 110mph+ (I think this is purely wind noise rather than anything mecanical) also I've had problems with the central locking on 2 occasions now. If I wasn't so obsessed with performance I would be keeping it but a new type 25 A-line is on order now. Overall I think the Foreseter STI is a fantastic car and not at all like you would expect as it is incredibly car-like, rather than SUV -like and very capable around the twisties.
