Got the HID's from the groupbuy before xmas, but with one thing and t'other just never got around to fitting them until today.
Started middy (ish) and only had 3 hours to do them, because the rain was threatening.Had some "expert" help from a mate (cheers rob
)
They dont have the finished result yet, but when I get pictures I will post them. In the meantime, here are a few of the during process.
1.Jacked up ready to go

2. Bumper bar was a right mess (as per usual) so on went some hammerite

3. Fitted the ballasts behind the bumper securely to the bodyshell

4. Position of control unit..nicely tucked away in a dry place

5. Headlights and HID bulbs all fitted, bumper back on (bugger to fit again), test and then get all the tools away just as the rain started.

Job done
Only problem is the sidelights now look decidely pants and yellow compared to the bright white of the HID's. so need to source some LED's for the sides.
Pictures of lights on coming soon.
(oh and I fitted some new fog covers and sti stickers as well
)

For your classic you will need one set of H4 bi-xenon bulbs to oporate your dips & full beam.

Very nice indeed
Finally, people will actually see you and you'll be able to see. You may find full beam a little dissapointing compared to your main beam, but it's still gonna look and perform miles better than your standard lights.
Judging by the amount of rain we've had I think we'd have been better off fitting an outboard motor and some floatation devices !!!!!

btw the cross member wasnt as bad as I thought, seeing the ones on FMIC installs etc, just a bit rusty on one side, but hammerite soon sorted that out.
btw the fog covers are down to you
My fogs.... Whatever next
I've got the Philips blue w5w side lights in and I alwas thought they looked clean white but after looking at your pics they look a mucky yellow
so those HID must be something special to see
Well done that man
I'll see if I can tempt you with brakes when I get them finished... end of Jan fingers crossed

Looks great Chris...and you did not even want my help.
You have pretty done what I did with placing the ballasts, but my relay is in front of the battery/horn mount laying down.
And I can't believe you did it all in 3 hours. It took me a good day and a half

I did have your thread to hand on my laptop sitting in the front seat, but in the end we did not need to look at it once, because a) rob has done it before on his scoob and his evo and b) we are men and dont read instructions
Honestly it was done in even less time than that TBH. We started around 11:00, by 11:30 had all the bumper off and lights, charcoal filter and battery out. I then painted the bumper bar and then shot home to get my drill and when I came back rob had laid out the relay and put the bulbs in the lights. Paint had dried by then, so cup of tea and then we mounted the ballasts. Cable tied the wires and relay. Rob had mounted the control unit by then and then we tested the lights. only one worked, so we found it was a duff ground.
Popped the bumper back on, wired it all up and reassembled. Probably done by 2 p.m. Easy

go on admit it, you are just jealous of my superior mechanical knowledge and ability to post some seriously useful threads
When we did Brun's the whole thing crumbled away nearly I ended up having to sacrifice my measuring rule
I was gonna get the HIDs but i really can't be bothered having the front bumper off again after seeing what a mess it was behind it
