Wink What do you think? (Work in progress)

Hi Guys

I have been veiwing more than posting on here for ages cos i was waiting til my car was complete before posting any images of her, but as other people post 'works in progress' i thought i would too. I know it isnt a turbo, but i dont think that really matters, anyway.......

She is a MY99 Sport
Standard when i bought her (see pics) but i have modded as follows :-

Full Turbo 2000 interior (seats and door cards)
Turbo Steering Wheel
Momo gear ****

Borla (sounds mint !! )
Cobra 5" back box
18" Inovit Rota Tarmac replicas
Crystal light pack
Colour coded wedges
De-Stickered

Pics

Before

And how she looks now, mid transformation

Remaining mods are

STi 5 Spoiler
P1 Splitter
Full colour coding

This is what i am aiming for, i love how this car looks and hopefully mine will lok pretty similar soon.

All should be done in next week or two, cant wait

I will update when she is finished

Thanks

Dan

yours should look better once you finish

better wheels and im hoping you dont get the same splitter as the dude in the pic has. That is not a P1 replica, its some next splitter.

But good luck and a very clean motor you have there

I have a replica P1 splitter from HT Auto's, so it is different to the one in the pic.

I aint putting the turbo bonnet on cos it aint a turbo. I dont mind other people who do but there would be other stuff which would give it away (rear drums, no white dials on dash oh, and the speed, lol ) I am just happy having a nice looking sport which from the back, turbo owners might think its a turbo, but then have to take a second look when there are no vents on the bonnet.

I cant wait to get the rest done.

Cheers for the comments guys

Dan

GC8 - Sorry mate, but you should be flattered, your car is the inspiration for mine.

I am not getting a turbo, or trying to make mine look like one, but i love how your car looks and wanted to emulate it as much as i could with mine.

Hope you dont mind

no problem at all that you took my picture, was just kidding!
(that's why i put the there.. edit: added a few more now so it's not missunderstood..)

thanks a lot for the compliments too.

but kilo's right about the splitter and the wheels. But as you already got a P1 replica you're gonna be fine..

so far we were speaking about my old wheels..
(the OZ Superturismos)

IMHO your's are fine but should be anthracite, but I think that's no surprise looking at mine now..
just really become to like dark wheels on a silver scoob..

hahaha GC8 is that your car mate? ive just seen some fresh pics in the thread you started, looks very very very nice.

And also, why is it that the splitter you had on before is something a lot of european owners have on their scoobs. Ive come across 3-4 scoobies mostly around the scandinavian areas with that splitter on.

But uve made two vital changes for me to not only like but love that car, they look ever so better with the sunroof

Come on Danny, hes gone a step ahead mate. You need anthracite lol

yes that's my car..
thanks!
like the sunroof too, have it open or at least partially opened all the time, even when there's no sun at all.. good way to have a bit of fresh air in the car without having a storm in your face and getting ill the next day..

about that splitter.. a guy in the netherlands makes them. It's actually a Orciari lip that he copies and he adds the three gaps in the middle.. used to sell it as "P1 replica", I actually told him he couldn't do that and I think he's changed the name since then..

well P1's much much much better of course!

(but I know at least one english GC8 on scoobynet that has one of those fake ones..)

and: zeah, anthracite's the way to go!!

regards

Yeah, i am sticking with my original idea. The silver wheels are staying, i really like them and i couldnt afford to change them even if i wanted to.

I will post pics of when she is finished, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

Cheers guys

I like what you've done there. Should look good when it's finished.

I don't know if you'd be interested, but Silvatec bulbs (look silver, glow orange) will dramatically improve the look of the crystal indicators as they eliminate the "fried egg" effect of standard orange bulbs.

Just for reference, here's a couple of pics of mine with them fitted:

Just a suggestion and feel free to tell me to p1ss off and stop being nosey if you want!

Regards,
Paul

No mate, dont be daft. I was wondering what the silver tec bulbs did, but after seeing yours i think they look great.

Right then, next purchase sorted then.

I think flat 4 online may still do a package where you get these silver bulbs free with the crystal lights pack which is a good mod to make you car look nicer
