The police really took exception to my smaller plate....I managed to rack up 4x£30 fines before I changed it to below:

I don't know why a front plate is so important on a car, a rear one is all you really needed. So having a small front plate would not be a problemem, you can still read them.

in the US you can have a pic of your cat on your front plate if you want, its not fair (i dont want a cat on mine)

i got a ticket 2 years ago for having a small square rear plate and just recently i went to court for breaking up a group of reg digits and only one sized spacing on a normal size square plate, got a fine

i think that makes sense

This one caem on the car and is also camera shy. When you shine light on it it says WRX across the whole plate. I should really change it but I've not had any problems with the police yet. Think I'd go Evo style if I did get caught out, even though I don't have a FMIC.

3/4 of standard bud

mine was 320mm x 73mm
but got alot of attention from P.C Plod
so changed to 375 x 82 , still too small but they've left me alone since
did get pulled last week , he wanted to ''look around the car'' , he never mentioned the plate

Most UK scameras take pics from the front and also the number plate recognition (NPR) cameras all work on front plates.

NPR cameras mounted on plods cars also use the front plate.

Also had to go down the 'Evo' plate route after having plod attention, I was also informed by plod that it's not only a £30 fine but can be upto £2k if it goes to court.

Get a stick on on reflective vinyl with a border.
