Default My current project

Bought this 97 uk turbo 2000 from Sheffield sports salvage on friday with little damage.

Then after 2 hours off the car being delivered

The bottom cross member is also off now and the damage to the inner wing is now repaired. just waiting for the new panels to arrive.

Also spent an hour removing all the ****e wiring that was all over the car due to the last owner have undercar neons (**** know's why). and removing somones attemt at home made clock surrounds, in other words they stuck sum white plastic to the clock surround's and didnt even trim them right.

I'll updae when the new panels are on.

Ok last 2 days ive got most of the parts painted and a few fitted heres some pics.

Just when i started to spray the first panel the gun decided it had had enough so had to buy a new 1 so bought this twin pack from Kestral Top feeder and suction.

Nice guns easy to use.

I also decide to respray the bootlid and spoiler cos the last ownder had left loads of sealent on it and plenty of scratches.

Fitted a few of the panels back on but need new hinges and bumper bars b4 the bonnet and bumpers can go back on.

Boot and spoiler back on

And the wings

Spent bout 3-4 hour yesterday compounding the rest of the body with G3 and giving it a good polish to make sure the new paint doent look out of place. Doesnt look bad but the new panels still need flatting and buffing yet.

very nice, would love to do a project like this but always wonderred if you can get good results from a back yard garage compared to a proper spray booth when painting

All depends on the prep. if you take your time you can do a good job just takes time. You'll probly not get as good result as a spray booth but you can get very close. Just take the time to make sure your garage is clean. Paint the floor/walls and make sure theres no drafts.

Cheers again guys.

The only **** up made on this project was done by the lad who did the welding for me. He welded the radiator mountings bout half inch too far back (dont ask how) so i had to modd the fans to make sure they cleared the engine. As you lot will know theres not much space there to begin with. But all is fine now and i have complete clearance now.
