Thumbs up MY DETAILING SESSION YESTERDAY!

As the show season is nearly upon us I finally manged to finish off the paintwork today as the sun was shining for a change.
A lot of the other detailing has been carried out over the last month or so a bit at a time. Items including wheel arches, alloys, most of the engine bay re cleaned, removed the intercooler and turbo heat shield for hand polishing. The exhaust heat shields were also removed and hand polished.
Todays detailing consisted of .......

Rinse off with power washer.
Washed with lambs wool mitt neilson suds and 2 buckets.
Re- rinsed with a running hose.
As I work in the motor trade I was able to "borrow" some machine compounds and glaze all ferecla products.
After 1 pass on the g10, the car was buffed off using mf cloth.
2nd pass with machine glze then agained buffed off with mf cloth.
It was then washed and rinsed as above.
I decided to give the whole car 1 application of clearkote hand glaze and buffed off using the sealey buffer.
Finished that off again by hand with mf cloth.
I then applied 1 layer of nattys blue and then another using the spit/shine tecnique.
The paintwork was then buffed off with a mf cloth.
The glass, door shuts door inners, boot shut and plastics etc were treated with poor boys spray and gloss.
The tyres were then re- dressed with poor boys bold and bright to finish off I gave the inside and outside of the rear silencer a coating of ALU begome which turned up today from ebay.

THE FOLLOWING PICS ARE FROM OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS BUT THE PAINTWORK SIDE IS FROM TODAYS HANDY WORK!

TURBO HEAT SHIELD BEFORE.

AND AFTER

ENGINE BAY

EXHAUST HEAT SHIELDS

FINISHED UNDER ARCHES

JUST INCASE YOU WERE WONDERING? THE ARCHES BEFORE CLEANING

A FEW INTERIOR SHOTS..

OH THIS IS HOW IT ALL STARTED 18MONTHS AGO!

Lovely motor as I have already said elsewhere!!! The ICE install looks great, is the Sub a selfmade box or can you buy them like that?

one is the main sony hu used to run the amp, sub atc. the other h u is a cheap ebay dvd player purely used to play the dvd and any mp3's on dvd too. it was just a low cost option at the time as it works well couldn't see any point of changing it all

Car looks fantastic once more

I've got to ask how you achieved this finish under the arches ?

Is is fresh blue paint over the top of the underseal if so is that simply a good clean and then a spray over ?

simon.
it is fresh paint, although the black dirty membrane was removed 1st. the whole arch then fully degreased, washed, then treated to a plastic trim product on the liners, repainted all the black suspension, steering parts and polished the lower control arm. in all around 4hrs a corner

I reckon you used to be in the RSOC and done this to old Escorts or Cossies.
Been there done that, plenty of hours spent under my Series 1 Turbo painting out the arches and re-spraying struts etc..etc...

Once you get it that clean it's quite easy to maintain, beleive it or not. As the dirt washes off quite easily.

nice work, may do similar to my classic some time....
