STi 5 Type R
Not posted any pics for a while simply because my car has been in my garage getting the engine rebuilt.
After 14 months of waiting for parts and climbing the learning curve i am finally back behind the wheel of my pride and joy. Its taught me to be patient and Ive learnt more about these engines than i ever would have.
Anyway here are the most recent pics:
Almost complete engine bay

Cheers for all the positive replies.
I brought my old man out of retirement to help along the way, especially the rebuilding of the block.
There are so many people out there who are willing to share their knowledge which made it a lot easier. Especially the guys on 22B and RCMS.
Spec wise (the main bits):
STi 7 semi-closed deck block
STi 9 cross drilled crank
Wiseco pistons
Pauter Rods
ACL main and big end bearings
ARP head bolts
Ported heads
Gruppe S manifold (wrapped)
Helix up-pipe (wrapped)
TD05/06 20G
RCMS induction kit
Samco inlet pipe
Walbro fuel pump
SX fuel reg
Goodridge hoses and fittings (parrallel fuel rails)
Oil catch tank
Hybrid FMIC
Spec-R PS relocation kit
Link ECU (to be mapped by BR)
Probably more.
Still need to get some bigger injectors and also going for an Apexi AVC-R to control boost, not impressed with the Link in this area.

Im glad some of you like the pic so much!
Simb, cheers m8, i took quite a bit of time to try and make the engine bay look the part as well as function properly and i think it was worth the effort.
Been back on the road for a week and so far ive covered 400 miles of the 1800 miles that Bob Rawle recommends before the first remap. I still need to book a date for the remap so at this rate it will have covered a few thousand miles before i go see him.
Feels good so far, very smooth and quiet.

That 1800 miles was the hardest I had ever done, life in the slow lane for a while my friend!!
Your have to let me know how you get on with where that number plate is positioned. I decided to retain the mounting place when my FMIC went on, still undecided whether to ditch it and go Evo style or what you've done.
