Wink FMIC fitted to my poorly STi type R...

Well, engine is probably gonna come out in Jan, hopefully funds will have built up by then... Although my car is still off the road at the moment, ain't stopped me doing little bits and bobs to it... with all my planned mods when the engine is out... this is one I could do at home, so over the weekend... this kept me busy, end results...:-
Looks even meaner...

Looks very stealthy.
IMO I would get rid of the piaa's and fit black sti covers. But WTF do I know

Would also relocate the number plate to get the most out of the FMIC.

Is that the Hybrid kit.... great quality gear what did you think of the install any snags ?

I must admit black fog covers would look rather tasty on there.

Car looks spot on, not seen you since one of the meets in crewe, the new car looks great. I have been thinking of getting a FMIC myself and was wondering where you got the kit from. Also how hard was it to fit and did you have to cut any of the metalwork.

Cool

Yes... its a hybrid FMIC... won it for a bargain £190 quid off E-bay...
only few little bits and bobs... couple of bits of pipe work I need to upgrade... dump valve hose, and possibley the air filter/ MAF pipe???
I managed to get the pipe through the inner wing without cutting and join all the pipes up... but may need to cut it as its very tight when closing the bonnet... Induction kit is very close, and also the pipe going to the throttle body... only wants abit of fetteling... didn't cut any metal work, just lightly hammered it... just keeps the strenght in the panels then... gonna paint the front end when it all comes apart for the engine... just touched in any bare metal until then...
Then there was just trimming the bumper and splitter... not a job to rush... I've sort of got used to the PIAA's... although wouldn't mind P1 fog lights???
Only thing I've gotta sort is getting my temp switch tapped into the cooloer pipe work to allow my anti-lag to work properly...
Run it by Teg sport, and said Steve Simpson will probably sort it when he does the mapping... so not to worried as it ain't going anywhere....
I will be fitting a smaller plate in time... just cut mine down for now... will get some made up once its back up and running once again....
Wildfire... pm me to sort out poping round, come take a look at it then you can way it up...
Hoping for high 400bhp maybe 500... and loads of torque too... had alot of saving and sacrificing to do... but its worth doing proper... I'm not gonna rush it to get it back out quicker... not with the way the weather is at the moment... having moments in me Corsa sport ( don't laugh its getting me from a to b cheaply ), let alone a big bhp Scooby... it was enough in the summer...!

Wink

Ending up going to Teg Sport again on friday... £££... bought me headers and turbo up pipe... Look very nice...
Been recommended by Andy F to get hold of Hayward and Scott open neck downpipe, and a ARP head stud kit.
Anyone know the cheapest place to get these parts from...?

All I need now is:- 620 injectors
Bigger turbo, probabley purchase one off Andy F... after speaking to him...
Cams
And my 2.5 block... been quoted from Teg Sport again, 2.5 block with uprated pistons, rods and oil pump near 2.5k??? Anyone know where I might get one cheaper?

Would anyone be interested in my 2litre block... at the moment its only suspected needing bottom end bearings...
Its got uprated rods, pistons and oil pump in, was rebuilt sept '04...??? PM me...
Got a STi version 4 tmic for sale...
1 standard STi turbo, good condition...
1 VF 34 Ceramic, rollerbearing Turbo... done about 6K on it...

Would be tempted to slightly relocate the reg plate but you'd probably risk getting a pull for it : either a sticky on the bonnet or on the front lip.

Cheers for the comments... more pics soon... they were took off my phone in the fog... hence the poor quality of pics...
