Question Show Me Your Knocklink Installations.

Hi Gang.... I'm going to be fitting a knocklink Sensor soon and was wondering how you all have them fitted in the car... mine will be going into a classic but new age pics are welcome to

I know that there are a few alternatives for fitting... Simply just have it on the dash, maybe fix an extension on for the LED's to be mounted through drilled holes or even drop it in the heater vent
I'm also interested to see what the most user friendly position is to as I don't want to have it away from eyeline so to speak.

Cheers
Simon

There's some really good examples on here. Quite innovative approached too - do a search

I use the widely used stick it down near the gear stick and never quite get around to moving it method

Just take cover off box,use as a template to drill holes, turn the box over and stick it down...easy!
Would like to take credit for this way of doing it,but was taken from scoobynet user a while back, cant remember user name.....

Here is my Knock link with Lambda link (Type R) in the upper din slot with a little bit of carbon squeezed in the middle.

I was a bit worried about having them so low down at first but I can see them well enough for my liking.

Also note the cheeky Defi Control unit where the cup holder used to be.

All done my Matt at TSL motorsport.

Excellent cheers guys.... some tidy installs there

Gives me something to think about.... I'm considering getting a row of extension LED's so I can mount them where I like that way the knocklink remains easily removable for the future.

Brilliant!!!

Best one I've seen was with the LEDs mounted on top of the steering column..

KL and LL both extended with LEDs. Both units positioned under steering column with LEDS positioned between inner and outer instrument cowling.

Was tempted to do it through the top of the dash to create a heads up display on the windscreen but bottle'd it at the last minute.

I must admit it is a nice neat install up on the top there

I've had a look in the car today and realised that it may not suit me as I am about 6' and I find with my line of eye that top part of the instrument panel is obstructed by the top of the steering wheel itself.
I may just drop it in without fitting it initially to see where it sits well and in view and then look at something more perminant later.
