Update on my car.
Went to have a look at the progress of my car today. As some of you know a kid in a corsa thought he'd re-arrange the back end of my scooby for me.
well it looked like this the last time i posted a pic
and it now looks like this
i'm rather chuffed but can anyone spot what i'm waiting on before i can get the car back?

number plate's legal. (just blanked it out for the pics)
lol at the string!! not sure where that went to. was a good bit of string
i thought that i'd go for a smoothed boot now. sticker was too hard to source for the import version. i was thinking about getting a newage one but changed my mind for now.
the dark alloys (ppf 7 copies) are in my garden. didn't want it to go to paint with those ones on.
a hint look closely at the rear lights.
any thoughts / comments on how the repair looks? i think it looks spot on.

an indicator bulb?
looks like a good repair, no obvious big gaps anywhere. although in the pics the colour match doesnt look very good between the boot and bumper, but it could just be the different reflections between the top of the bumper and the boot.

yup it's the lights. gold stars for those who noticed. they've sent a uk spec instead of a jap spec. would have been nice to get the sti lights but i only needed one and they were close to writing the car off. they guy at cartec (tony), worked his magic and convinced them to allow the repair.
cheers for the comments guys. he really has done a superb job. i dropped of a version 7 / 8 sti spoiler to be played around with to get it to fit and for him to spray. should have that in a week or so. in time for the esc convoy to rockingham.
As for the colour match, the pics don't do the work justice. he blended / resprayed into the rear wings to get it to match. inside the boot it doesn't look like it's been damaged at all. he even sprayed the whole of the inside of the boot rather than just the repaired patch. i really can't wait to get it back now!!!
if anyone lives in the south essex area and needs / wants any paint work done call tony at cartec and tell him i recommended him. also if you want to see some of his work my mates e30 m3 is on 5th gear 12th Dec and tony has worked on that when it needed some stone chips covered.

cheers for the comments.
not sure what value they were putting on it but book price on an s reg uk model is about £4k now so an L reg import will probably only be about £2k book. Guess that would mean that any cost over £1k would mean that they would write it off.
i'll have to try to find out how much it all cost and let you know. plus it'd be handy to see what insurance companies are valuing early classics at on a non agreed value policy.

Why not get a UK offside cluster (probably easier than finding a JDM nearside one)?
The UK clusters have the foglight built in, so you can lose the chunky foglight next to the number plate!

Try haggling a bit more for the lights, I bought mine from a dealer who wanted £220 for them, but I ended up paying £160 for them. This was about 4 years ago though!

good news, picking the car up at 10am tomorrow.
fingers crossed the spoiler will be ready for me to pick up as well. not sure if i've mentioned that. Have got a nice sti spoiler being sprayed. hopefully i can get that at the same time as the car. then all i need to do is bolt it on when i get home along with the jun splitter, mini scoops and ppf 7 replicas.
oh and it sailed through the mot
scooby-fan - i've thought about tints but those days are passed for me. been there done that on the xr2i's and rs turbos i had a few years back. the then girlfriend who is now the wife didn't like it then and would nag me something cronic if i tinted the scooby. she's already moaned about the new spoiler being too big.
