Default Holiday pics from Lakes and Northumberland...(56k ???)

Hi.
Just got back from holiday last nite from 11 days on hoilday.
We stayed in Coniston for 6 nights in a nice B&B on the far side of the lake. The weather was nice on the way up to the lakes, but then the weather dieterated as was cloudy We Usually go up to the lakes every year (parents have been going for the last 30+years and me 20 years-(D.O.B 13/10/84) so we knid of know our way around. Saw a few Imprezas, lots of foresters etc...

Then on the Saturday 23rd we travelled to Northumberland and headed for Corbridge and started to look for a B&B. no such luck. Then we tried Hexham to luck. We finally got a place in the out skirst of Hexham, but was really expensive B&B. we stayed their two nights then on the monday we found another place to stay, on a farm. This was really nice farm. Good cooked breakfast

Did some sight seeing. Saw loads of scoobies, more here than in the lakes.

On the Tuesday we went to Nerwcastle and we did not realise it was the tall ships race event thingy. so we went. weather was ok, cloudy. Spent a few hours there, then wended our way back to the b&b farm house via the Angel of the North.

We came home wednesday via Middlesbrough, Whitby, Scarborough. We stop off in Middlesbrough to see the Transporter bridge. We went on it. Mmy dad wanted to take some pics of the Steam trains that were running on the mainline.

Here are some pics:

Sounds like you had a nice time.

I went up to the lakes last summer, had a great time and some of the driving was superb. The STi loved it and I was impressed with how well it handled the terrain compared to a couple of my mates cars that came along with us, doesn't get much practice up and down hills in flat Essex!

Not as much as I was expecting actually.

In fact the trip up there was where I recorded my best ever mpg figure....30mpg That was sitting at a pretty steady 70mph all the way (with the odd blat here and there ) as one of the cars with us was getting on a bit with a pregnant woman on board who didn't fancy going in to early labour!

Liked it so much that I will definitley be taking it back up there.....made me appreciate just how good the car really does handle. Almost as exciting as when we did the Mencap rally in somerset a few weeks back.

Leave the Mondeo and take the scoob....you will regret leaving the scoob at home when you get on some of those twisty country lanes!

P.S. not so sure about GODS country, but he definitely had us scooby owners in mind when he made the roads further north than Gateshead.
