Black is the hardest colour to keep clean and swirl marks are part of the package, they can be polished out with lots of hard work..

Cheers mad555

Was told by a dealer that black cars should be polished in a side to side motion instead of the usual way as this helps avoid the swirls, dont know if theres any truth in it

Been using the red label stuff myself recently - looks good but doesn't seem to last all that long.

Should I really be waxing as well as the polish?

i did mine in the sun and it is nowhere near as dusty as the red label. you do get a bit of dust but just keep rubbing it in and it seems to disappear and gets shinier.

Use Autoglym extra gloss protection after polishing, it is really easy to apply and Protects all that hard work. wish it came off as easy as it goes on, but defiantly worth it trust me.....

Thanks again for the good comments on my car, has made me appreciate it allot more and may keep it for a while longer..

no theres not

the majority of swirls are not caused by polishing, tests has shown that small air vortexes swirl dust and small bits of dirt around your car as you drive, this swirls the paint

apperentlly

i have not seen the test results myself, i was told about them on a training course so i cant vouch for it

I would be very surprised if that is true, I am no expert but sounds a little

Surely its just where you don’t rinse the car off properly before you wash it, the sponge then scrapes the dirt and dust around when washing

(The car valet place below my work advised me of this as when they used my car for training) It left me with no swirl marks or scratches. Then said he would string me up if i didnt rinse the car properly before washing it & advised to also rinse the spounge and leather as often as pos + wash the leather in the washing machiene every time you clean the car.

Sorry stickymicky

I did my WRX in Ultra Deep Shine and Extra Gloss Protection before I sold it and it worked really well on the deep blue mica paint.

Both cars were done in the driveway on red hot days and the dust wasn't half as bad as with the old Super Resin Polish
