Question Bugeye photos - with additional grill mesh

Hi

Looking for any photos of your car showing additional front grill mesh fitted.

Please could you state if it was fitted DIY and where you purchased it from or fitted by which company.

Thanks for your help.

Looks nice G00ner, very neat and the silver goes with the rest of the car.

I am after something that is not flush fitting, for the bottom one and I think black in colour.

I think I may have to buy some mesh and DIY jobby.

Interested to see any other photos, if there are anymore.

Does the job, and easy to fit without removing anything.

Mesh from Halfords and 3 black cable ties.

Warning, don't buy bugeye STi's, suspension doomed to fail and dealers more hopeless than kwik-fit.

Did you just cut the mesh to size?

Any tips on installation?

I have the WR1 mesh on the front of mine. It is a black car so I sprayed it black, but it chips very easily and needs regular respray (no big deal really). I have heard that it is better to get it powder coated, but costly.

The mesh I got off Ebay, I think it was Montys of Sheffield selling it. Only 150 for both upper and lower mesh.

Fitting was no problem, full instructions plus a template to help you align the drilling points. Very simple indeed.

Only problem was that I could not work out what tool was required for the two screws at the top of the lower grille. Asked local dealer and they did not know either. Bought a couple of self-tappers in the end and job done.

Will get some pics and post them up.
