Default Pics after fitting Ledas and Prodrive Alcons

It's been ages since i posted current pics of the car, and its been ages since i fitted the Ledas and Alcons so thought it's about time. After a bit of a clean this is what the car looks like at the moment, it did look like a MY93 WRX some 6 years ago when i got it.... and no i won't be changing the orange lights

Bit blurry

The best money i've spent on the car.... Prodrive Alcons

And lastly a shot of the interior and Apexi commander

Looks like a mint example mate!!

I'd be interested in hearing your views on the Alcons ( did you upgrade from the Subaru 4 pots or 2 pots, are they 16 inch wheels?) How much did the Prodrive kit cost If you don't mind me asking?

Best,

I updated the exterior as one of my first mods. I actually bought the car while at university so couldn't afford a newer version but prefered the bonnet etc.... since then i've tried many times to part with the car but nothing has taken my fancy.

As for the brakes, i've had standard 2 pots, then 4 pots, then 4 pots with the 335mm Godspeed conversion and then finally the Alcons. In terms of fit and performance the Alcons are in a league of their own. I'd only ever consider APs as an alternative now. As for price, think they are still about £1600 but keep an eye for a used set. Should be able to pick up a set for about £600.

And the mod list... where do i start . Next mods are waiting to be fitted... HKS FMIC, 550s and front entry inlet manifold (eventually).

Wheels are Prodrive ST2s, 17". From memory they are ET53mm or 52mm.

Not sure you can buy these anymore.... or they are quite rare now anyway. Basically they are the same style as the old group A and WRC tarmac wheels (up until 1997 or so iirc). Shame they didn't do them in 18"

Thanks for the name... I will ask the local Prodrive dealer (I wish to have a spare set of wheels)

Actually, the WRC wheels were Speedlines (www.speedlinecorse.co.uk) they still make the gold 6 spoke, which could be found on real WRCs (classics ) You will find those wheels easily on the website, since they are only made in 8x18 (Official WRC tarmac size )

I have Raceline RL-7s myself, which I sourced this year (they are not made since 2001 and I found a brand new set... ) So I see if I will have luck by sourcing these...

I still love the wheels...

Cheers,

R.

Should have been a bit clearer..... the wheels are actually manufactured by Speedline to Prodrives spec. They have speedline embossed on the rim and a prodrive centre badge.

But speedline does not sell them separately. The way it works is that anybody can make speedline manufacture a specific wheel (e.g. Skoda Motorsport) and then they decide whether they allow Speedline to sell them under Speedline, but on default Skoda Motorsport can distribute and sell them (to subdealers etc.).

For reference: The 18" WRC wheel 2013, if you still want 18's, but leave these, they are fantastic...

Speedline used to sell some of the Prodrive wheels, but under a different name (ala the Prodrive Supertourismo/aka Speedline Chrono). This wheel was introduced in 1999 to clear the 4 pot calipers that were fitted as standard on UK cars, and as you say wasn't sold by Speedline.

Have you enquired about the price of those 18" wheels, being a competition magnesium wheel you need to be sat down while getting a price!!!!

LOL Daz... don't go all bad taste on me now. You'll be fitting afterburners again soon . If orange has been good enough for McRae, Sainz, Makinen, Burns and Solberg then orange is good enough for me .

Hi Tony, nice to finally see your car. I love the styling.

ST2's and Speedline Chronos have been moving swiftly up my favourite wheels list for some time now. The car looks really good facelifted and i like how you've left the indicators/rear lights and not gone OTT with an STi spoiler and stuck with the Prodrive one.

It's very refreshing to see a tastefully modded MY93 rather than seeing one butchered with Lexus lights (sorry Darren ) and chrome wheels.
