Are you seriously telling me you cannot say what products you used? Assume Webmaster or a Mod told you this, or are you just being on the safe side?

One assumes I cannot say that I use Autogylm on the Honda then? As that would be free advertising and upset someone?

That cannot be right!!?!!!?! You must have gotten the wrong end of the stick there. This forum is full of recommendations for tyres, springs, speed camera detectors, movies, etc etc
Am I allowed to say that my favourite biscuits are Jammy Dodgers?

Can you PM me what wax it is please mate? Stunning results!

If you are not allowed to mention the product name then ALL the posts mentioning ANY product name either recommended or otherwise need to be edited by mods or the webmaster.

Anyone would think that Labour were in charge of this forum.

It'll be Swissol (sp?). Used the same stuff in the past and it is fantastic. Oh, maybe I'm not allowed to say that

The second thread where you asked why the thread had been deleted has not been deleted, it's been moved to the Scoobynet Policy forum. Hopefully someone will clarify why the orginal was deleted. If you were plugging Paul's services, then I could see how that might be out of order, but a nice little PM/Email asking to remove the comments, or change things would have been nice, and from what you've said, you've not had one, and that is a tad out of order.

To be honest any thread like this should actually be moved to dealers and third party IMHO but I wasn't involved so I'm not stepping on anyones toes.

He paid a third party to do work on his car. Therefore it's no different to praising a dealer who's done good work.

I didnt actually pay for him to do it, I did state that in the origianl thread I posted up that got deleted (WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION)

we did a 'trade', I fitted some graphics to his car, and in return he ''Swissol'd" my car for me.

I DID highlight the fact that Swissol was the products used

Not ONCE did I once mention the company that sold the Swissol.

I didn't ever see the original thread so I can't really comment.

Paul,
Well, that would explain things, *if* had paid Paul to do the work. Even still, a nice little email/pm would have been nice, just to explain things.

Also, are you saying that if a dealer/company had done this, then we'd not be allowed to offer praise as it's seen as unfair advertising? Does this apply to everything, for example, let's say I recieve amazing service from PC world (would certainly be a monumental thing lol) then would I not be allowed to state that, as it's free advertising? What about a great deal on CD-RW's? would that be frowned upon as DiskDepot sponsors the Computer Related section?

Is there a thread/FAQ somewhere detailing the exact specifics of what is and is not seen as free advertising? If not then I think there should be, as it seems to be a bit of a minefield as to what we can or cannot say.

Anyway, enough taking the thread off topic.

Very nice job on the car, must confess I've not seen Paul work so hard... ever (Just kidding mate ) Looks fantastic

I am extremely pissed off that my thread was just DELETED without even a pm/email to say why.

Without an explanantion as to why this action was taken I have no idea how to avoid it happening again, it isnt the first time I have had a thread removed for no apparent reason.

I thought the job of a moderator was to look after the forums and advise members where & when they post inappropriate material/comments. (after all I run my own club forum and have moderators and used to moderate ScoobyCity forums)

If there "isnt enough time" to advise members on 'bad' threads/posts then more moderators are required.

Come on, how long does it take to PM some1?

I admit, I did make the words SWISSOL bold but I didnt advertise who supplied it.

I think this was deemed as ADVERTISING and resulted in the thread being DELETED
