Cool When Engineering becomes a thing of beauty!

Apologies that this is a little blatant, and I'm sure the moderators will move this (and I can't really blame them!! ) ..

but..

I just think this is an absolute thing of beauty...

Our new Jap style slash cut rear silencer

Cheers

Hi Guys

Thanks for the comments

The silencer is identical internally to the standard ScoobySport performance exhaust, so you get the performance of the scoobysport exhaust, but the asthetics of the 4 1/2" jap style tail pipe.

The tail pipe also slightly alters the scoobysport sound, although it's only marginal to be honest.

The scoobysport rear silencer is a high end performance product so the price is higher than other boxes at £270 + VAT...

Cheers

Does it sound as good as the original though?

If it does, I guess I will be wanting one of these for my bugeye (you do sell it for the Bug eye do you not?)

Hi Eric

The sound is better than the original IMHO.

It is a little more barky under heavy load, and noticeably quieter in the cabin when cruising. But the actual underlying note is thick and meaty.

Best thing to do is ask for opinions from those who have bought one.

Regarding bugeye, yes of course

All the best
Simon

Hi BAH

This is the only one in existence currently (although that will be all different by the end of tomorrow ), so we don't have any pics of it fitted as yet, sorry ..

Davy.. you plonker (or should I say "tretter"? )

not the same resolution, but here's the standard scoobysport tailpipe...

Cheers

Oh dear..... why the max power 4 1/2 inch tail pipe . Does this add any performance advantage over a more descrete size... or is it just for the bling. If it is i'm very disappointed.... thought the new scoobysport was all about performance and not looks???

Tony.

Hi Tony

The reason for the tailpipe is purely due to the demand. We receive so many requests for this size tail pipe it just became impossible to ignore them.

People wanted the scoobysport performance and sound, with the 4 1/2" tail-pipe.

The slight difference here is that we haven't simply put together an exhaust system that doesn't provide any performance benefit but just looks "good".. instead we've taken our already superb exhaust system and added asthetics to please those who want it.

It is very unusual to find a system that looks like that but actually performs as well as the scoobysport system.

Horses for courses mate, live and let live and all that!

Simon - I do think you should be careful as to what I.D you log in under. Its all well and good plugging your product as scoobysport(sdB) but post #15 you post as webmaster which is wrong IMHO, a simple mistake probably but could cause ructions or confuse newer members

to be honest phil, we've never officially measured the dBs...

It's not a big noise making machine though if that's what you're after.

It has a nice characteristic though in that it barks and roars when under load, than quietens off when cruising so you don't get the big drones of some of the after market systems.

It also sounds stunning at tickover, which I know is not the most important, but it always makes me smile when I start the car in the morning

The subjective report would be to simply say it just sounds like a quality performance orientated exhaust. It is not engineered for noise, it's engineered for performance, so the sound, while louder than a standard exhaust is not something that will wake the whole village up, until you hit the loud peddle

Cheers

Simon
