well worth the 4 hour wait!

Thanks for those Mo, I know what you mean about fast cars and digicams, I've got untold pics of blurry bits of cars at various events in my collection
I would've loved to have gone to the F1 Parade but I live 200 miles north of London now so it was a bit too far to travel.

Moski, I was there with ChrisL. We were about 20 feet nearer to the start than you.
We stood there for 4 hours before we saw the first F1 car, and even then we wern't at the front!!.
I'm glad I went, just to be there, and it was an amazing acheivment to put it all together in such a short time. Unfortunatly I thought that there was a distinct lack of "content" to the event. 4 Hour wait, a few cars up and then down and not very fast.
A free test day at Silverstone seems a much better day out, and you can use the stands to rest your legs. Perhaps it's just because I'm an old fart!! (or am I using Goodwood the week before as my critera)
To anyone who hasn't seen an F1 car in action, it would probably have been spectacular. Maybe next year they can put together a longer show.

second round of pics
hi guys- heres some of the other pics
Chris L, distinguished gentleman and j-k we must literally crossed paths- i was right next to the phonebox where numourous ppl were told to get down from and right infront of the couple standin on the bin!
Jpalmer i have never been to any GP so to experience this firsthand for the first time was simply great- the noise, atomosphere was absolutely brillant. i am sure the other guys who were there near lillywhites will agree with me when i say i think we were the closest to the cars- the track really narrowed there!
if there ever was a london grand prix i would most definetely b there!
anyway- bak to the pics!
i got a load of these its almost embarassing but i guess the "Arrows Team" got sum representation.............
was hopin luca badoer would slow down- no chance!
CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG!
Tail end of the bently parade covered by a H2 Hummer
gives an idea of how close to the cars we actually were and the best pic i got of a car passin right in front of me
triplet of course cars- medic, safety and tail runner
DC in the McClaren Mercedes SLR with Brundle way behind in the "Shaguar"
Best pic of the lot in my opinion really captures the moment and is a precursor for wat a london GP would look like!
notice how they runnin the 17D and not this seasons car!
if ppl want to the c the full res pic- the second set are 1600x1800 (i think) let me kno and i'll post em up on my personal webspace
