This was todays job. Bought for £104 from ebay, went for the cheap option and painted myself at a cost of £18. Saved a lot of money and only one bodge
What do you guys think? I think it looks the ****!

Every time I try to paint something, it comes out with a dull shine, whereas yours looks a professional job.
What's your secret?? I've got a front splitter myself wanting painted, might have a go myself.
Post up all your stages of painting/finishing for me will you mate?? Just to give me a bit of clue.
Cheers,
Andy.

hi mate, well believe it or not this is the first thing ive ever painted in me life! It has come out absolutely perfect apart from one run which was my fault.
I used something called etch primer which eats into the plastic. Then I had the paint made up at a custom paints place. My dad made me the dodgiest looking contraption to hold the splitter in the air consisting of garden sticks stuck in the ground at different angles and then the splitter put on top. Then it was simple, one coat of paint every couple of hours. Best to do in the sun as it dries a lot quicker. I didnt need clear laquer due to the paint i had but you might need it after depending on what paint you use. I cant really give you any advice on painting as im no expert, just make sure you put it on thinly and build it up rather than putting on too much.
