Was yours fitted before you owned the car or did you fit it yourself?

We had a look at Hutchy's (Rb5 iom) but couldnt figure out where it would go?

His engine looks totally different to my 94 Wrx.

This is My bay after CD2 clean.

Yes fitted it myself.

His engine is a different version to yours, and mine but only slightly.

From 99 on, which his is, the dump valve it bolted directly to the inter cooler.
With an aftermarket DV you can just bolt it on or you will require an adapter with hosing, depending on which DV you fit.

Its an easy job to do, as I said if you want to look at mine first to get an idea no probs just give us a shout.

Looks tidy mate.

And am interested in hearing RB5 IOM's cos I have a blitz NUR but still have catted down pipe, but cant remove until new ecu and remap.

It must be your old one. Thanks for selling it...I love it!!

I have some plans for her, just need to save up!

Did you fit the after market parts or were they on it when you got her?

Hehe,

Good to hear the old girls still going strong then!

Nah, I didnt fit anything, There was an Induction kit, dump valve (quite a noisy, blow grannies off the pavement type of one!) and a Jap slash cut 'zorst on it when I got it.

Was bought by a guy in PSM called Dickie summat straight after I had it but dont know what he did to it. Think he may have upgraded the brakes though...

I did notice it had those awful Lexus style lights on the back a while ago and I nearly cried!
Each to their own I suppose, but I cant stand em!

Did you know I think its actually a Mk1 STi by the way?
I looked up the chassis number on the net and it seemed to tally up. It also has the 'i' badge on the front rather than the stars, and the pink bits on the strut brace. The engine top isnt red, but apparently they never did that till later on...

Keep 'er looking good mate!

Mark...

Cool Mark

I will need to have a look at the chassis numbers and model codes. Not so sure its an Sti as the Interior is just the normal Grey with red bits. (Not the Sti logod ones) I will investigate.
The lights are on until i can find some reasonably priced Sti ones. I only paid £131 for these Lexus ones. (Not the £240 that some places want!)

I do think it's a matter of taste, some like em and some dont.

I have just fitted a bigger D Valve on her so it's even louder now.

The brakes have been upgraded last year, but they seem to have been missused. They are a bit warped now.

What are you driving now??

Scooby i hope??!!

Yep,

Now got a Sonic Blue '99 STi 5 Type RA Ltd Edition, number 510/1000
Only mod I have done is put a TSL Firestorm backbox on it, nice and rumbly and pops a bangs a bit too when hot!

I thought the silver one was quick, but this one is ridiculous!
300 PS standard (about 296bhp) but must be just over the 300bhp with the exhaust on!

By the way, are you RB5_IOM's brother by any chance?
If you are I live just up the road from him!

Have a look on these sites for chassis numbers/info etc...

Yep, you got me.
You are who I thought too!

I dont post much on here, prefer SIDC forums, more locals on them...

Woke me up this morning at 6.30am you git!
Nah, seriously, sounds nice mate, although the other 'arf has been calling you all the names under the sun!!!

Do you and WRX-Iom work together then?

I setup the room at Restart for BACX the other week and noticed both names on the list today when I was clearing it all down (did notice the different spelling too actually!)

Yes WRX, she does come out and play occasionally, but I dont get much chance to drive her as Im on call for work a lot and have to have the van at home etc etc...

Wink Surprise STi!

Yeah I thought I'd seen it as an STi too...

I think it has the pink suspension struts too, although I may be wrong, have a look up into the wheel arch...

I have some very crap pictures of mine on Fotopic taken with my exceedingly awful digital camera. Heres the link...

http://StansPics.fotopic.net (in the Scoob collection obviously)

And the specs/differences with the Type RA Ltd Edition to standard STi ;

Full title is a '99 WRX STi5 Type RA V-Ltd, and has a little plaque by the gearstick which gives its number (510 -1000) and underneath it states "555 Subaru WRC Limited Edition"
Colour is WRC Sonic Blue with roof vent.
Front seats are limited blue cloth/alacantra with 'STI' and '555 World Rally Team' logo on them.
Quickshift gearbox, Momo wheel, all STi pink stitching on wheel and gearknob etc.
STi logo'd foglamp covers
Pink 'Stars' on grille badge (Instead of pink 'I')
STi logo'd carbon fibre strut brace..

Electric folding mirrors
Electric windows
Auto climate control
IC Sprays (auto and man)
Close ratio box
Electrically controlled centre diff (65R/35F to 50/50 variable)
LSD front and rear
Bigger rear diff
Bigger driveshafts
Bigger wheel bearings
Bigger 2 pot rear brakes
300PS 8250rpm engine
2.25 turn Quick steering rack (13:1)
Lightweight Glass
No Sound Proofing for lightweight
Aluminium bonnet and lighter panels
Inverted strut KYB STi5 RA spec shocks
Uprated springs
Alloy Bottom arms
Solid linked front ARB
Uprated ARB's
Centre rev counter dash

Mods - TSL Firestorm Backbox, and Ive just bought some STi rally style mudflaps that I havent yet put on...

So, I think you can tell why it lives in the garage a lot...
I even scream when it gets bird **** on it!

WRX-Iom,
Thanks for the appreciation, and yes definately "My Preciousssss!"

The SIDC UK lot as far as I know are coming over to join the SIDC Manx lot in late July early August. Its combined with when the Manx International Rally is on, which I always go and watch anyway so usually see a few of them about. Got to perfect the Scooby Wave that week too!

CSIOM,
Hi Jon, you already 'e-know' me from the SIDC forums mate (enCrypt on there)

Hello to you too!!

The type R's seem to be very popular. Do you have an as impresive spec sheet as Markpm's.?

Did you own yours when you were on the Island?

Also how we do get in on this SIDC meet etc... I wasnt allowed to join in on the road closure on the mountain last year?

What was i doing wrong? I do own a Scooby after all!
