Morrette headlights for classic 98
I'm thinking about getting these as an upgrade/ replacement for my broken (stone crack) standard front light. Can anyone provide pics/ advice?
Also, are there any other alternatives?
Thanks.

there are not that many alternatives to the morettes, think there is something like UPAuto's lights, but not sure they are adjustable and as such might fail MOT.
As for pics of quaddies, have a peek here

Very nice guys, Thanks.
I wasn't aware that there was a gap between the headlights and the grill though.
My car is blue (as is the grill surround) and this may show clearly.
Jogyp - like the parking - block the road to take the shot!!

ceedee, have you got any pics of the pattern these headlights leave against a wall by any chance?? especially low beam. also, what are the glass dome parts like? What bulb do they take and are they suitable for xenon? Is there a regulator behind the lens so that the height can be automatically adjusted?
Sorry for the questions, just hard to find anyone with information....

The gap is only there on pre facelift (96 I think) cars. For a long time people said you could not put morettes on pre facelift cars, but I looked into it and found there is only this gap, which is not really noticable, and if you wanted you could get a grill made up to fix the problem.

What's the difference between the two? The angel eyes have the ring type effect and the morettes don't right?
I wasn't going to do this mod, but as the price of replacing a single standard headlight is almost the same money i'm trying to convince myself to upgrade.

I don't have a pattern against a wall, but I can say that from experience the light emmited from the quads is far better than the standard lights. The reflector design on pre and post facelift cars is really bad, thus leading to very poor light emission. Upgrading to something like Phillips vision plus bulbs helps a little, but quads would be the best. As for the angel eye thing, not sure how good that actually is, from what I recall on bimmers, it's only ever used for sidelights and not dipped full or full main beam.

2 cheese boy : No m8, i don't have wall light pattern...imho it's not that much better than standard light...My lights have projector type low beams...both low/high use H7 bulbs...there is a way of regulating lights but it's manual (same as on morettes) so i don't think u can use xenon/hid lights (unless you buy some with leveling motor on them)...
2 Scooby96 : on ebay...with p&p from USA 2 EU it's about 180$ for projector type...normal ones are around 50$ cheeper
2 allanbell : can u please post some pictures of pod i sold u...i would like to see it couse i think it's the nicest pod for pre97 preza i saw...

Cheeseboy, angel eyes are not TÜV approved and are also not E spec so you will not get them approved either.
it is not a problem in the UK as they can fit any old crap to their cars.
