Got a pic here. Well worth doing. Longest part is waiting for the paint dry.

Are they easy to remove for painting? I have a silver MY00 and along with crystal lights these would rock.

This was a how-to I wrote for another forum.............

Painting the orange wedges

This is one of the easiest mods and makes a great difference to the facelift classic impreza.

1. Remove wedges by placing a screwdriver in each of the slots at the top of the wedge (the screwdriver is best wrapped in a cloth to protect your paintwork). Then lift the screwdrivers slowly upwards and the wedge should pop out easily. As you can see I have had my wedges painted before and so I am touching them up coz they are very stone chipped.

2. This is where you have a choice. You can either paint your wedges silver/black/colour code or you can use paint stripper on them as they are black underneath the orange paint. I am painting mine silver again coz I have loads of silver paint left (it is only £6 a can from B&Q anyway)

3. Sand the wedges down with wet and dry to give the paint something to key onto. Then clean and dry the wedges so they are ready for painting.

4. Put the wedges on something unimportant (I used an old bit of skirting board). Then take them outside or somewhere well ventilated and give the wedges several coats of paint, leaving the paint to dry in-between. After this you can lacquer the wedges too if you wish, for a longer lasting finish. (They will chip however well you do them due to there low down position on the car.

5. Once the paint has dried thoroughly you can then take the wedges back to the car and simply push them back in place and they should clip back in.

6. Go and have a beer

The wedges before.....

Looking tatty.....

You can see the stone chips.....

Sanded and cleaned.....

First coat.....

Finished painting.....

Back in the car.....

and again, sorry it was getting dark but you get the idea.....

Mine were off the car, painted and back on in 15 minutes flat.
A bit of a clean to remove the bugs and then slapped some hammerite on. 10 mins to dry a bit and back on the car! No messing
