If you don't mind me asking, what head unit/Sat Nav is it that you have installed and what is the gadget where the clock used to be? I have an STi8 and as you must know, the standard stereo is awful!

Pointless bit of info but here goes....

The helicopter used in Airwolf WAS actually a dauphin!!
Although possibly not the same model as is pictured!

ScoobyDraven, yes, the oe head unit is awfull. I replaced it with the Pioneer AVH-P6400CD (screen), and bellow that the AVIC-9DVDII, for which I need to get a new DVD map disc really, anyway... I've also got an amp under the passenger seat which drives a 12" Pioneer sub in the boot, and the result is so many times better I couldn't really tell you.

Go to www.pioneer.co.uk for more info on the current range, which has been slightly updated since I got my stuff (including this more recent map/software disc).

Gadget where the clock used to be is a SECS ECU monitor... an alternative to guages really, but takes most of its information directly from the ECU, including fault codes and an ECU reset function. www.psi3.co.uk for that one.

Twigster, ok.. I'm going to expose my geeky helicopter knowledge here, but Airwolf was actually a Bell 222 with a body kit!

Thanks Ex_Pug for the info. I kept the Pioneer head unit from my GTi6 (I guess that makes me an Ex Pug aswell!) but it's one of the only pioneers that won't fit in the STi8.

The ECU monitor gadget looks fantastic, did you fit this and all the ICE yourself?

By the way, I noticed from another thread that you're from Lytham St Annes. I go there quite regularly to visit the inlaws, they live quite close to the Golf Course (the Royal one).

Edited to say - didn't realise someone already pointed that out
Are the pics at Blackpool?
Edit again to say - the post above says you live in ST Annes. I'll get me coat

paulpalmer, actually, on the STi8 the hanger is standard

ScoobyDraven, the main reason I went for the SECS monitor was because it looks nice and subtle somehow. As you may have gathered from their web site, it comes with a genuine Subaru pod making it look as thought it's meant to be there. That I fitted myself, very simple... the DVDNav/screen etc. was fitted proffessionally, very complicated!!

lol @ BigJim!!!!!!!!!!

austen_wrx, the company is called Speedline Corse.. www.speedlinecorse.co.uk

Edited to say Paul got there first with the link to the Speedline web site... thanks!

Badger, I didn't think there was much call for the stuffing of badgers on rigs these days? Was this out of Blackpool, or East coast?

Thanks again Ex_Pug for the info, just one more question and then I promise that I'll leave you alone! I did see on the website that the unit is available with an integrated pod, that's why it stood out so much to me in your picture because it looked sooo good! Was it really that easy to fit in terms of connecting it to the ECU and taking the existing facia out of the car?

Damn this forum, everytime I come on here I find something else that I need

Ex-pug, did you have a silver classic before the sti? If so, my mate bought it from you. The gent who sold it to us said he was selling it on behalf of his son, who was a pilot at blackpool and had just bought an sti8.
Just thought i'd put 2 and 2 together.

Steve
