My Nurburgring pictures
#1
Hi All
If you have read my thread here these are the pictures that go with it.
My photos have been uploaded but I will only link a few to here and the rest can be found here
The "slow black Skoda"
This was one mental Audi. 2 hours later it wasn't as pretty
How it didn't stop with these brakes I don't know
The ring can bite even if you have 4 wheel drive
A bike rounding Brunnchen
The castle seen from Nurburg
This guy dropped this in front of us luckily he was fine
An hour or two after this was taken this beautiful Golf didn't look like this
Some people have too much money
Map of the circuit
The ring taxis
Tavia & Floyds cars
Sometimes it can very busy on track
And lastly
Paul

Ah, memories of the 'Ring...
Fantastic pictures, if a little bit large for Scoobynet. people on Modems might get a shock! You may want to edit them down to half their current size!
Read your report a few days ago. Nice...
Going back then? My wife and I definitely are!

I didn't see what was left of the Audi but this is what happened to the golf these pictures are from Ben Lovejoys site.
And this is what it looked like a day later
The latest news on the driver is Mk1 Golf driver - He turned out to have three fractured vertibrae, and needs to lay on
his back for four weeks with no movement. So not fun, but still very
lucky compared to how that crash could have ended.

Terrible with those cars - and the funny thing is that they have NO INSURANCE once you enter the premises! LOL. So even the doctors bills wont be paid for him... Or time off work, or the cost of his car.. And if he had passengers, they can then sue him for distress and damage...
We use the ´ring as a major test ground as it is one of the most brutal test tracks in the world! But, we hire it for just us - so it is a closed track But a trip with one of our test drivers will leave you white...
Great fun, but mentally dangerous-.

No I was in a Skoda Octavia RS with TaviaRS
cheeseboy
I thought it was a one way, unrestricted toll road and you were insured etc because it's not a track as such
NENO
I think we did actually most of the bikes that passed us at the weekend were when I was driving really

paulpalmer, you are correct that it is a closed toll road, but once you go through the gates THERE IS NO INSURANCE. At least not in Germany. If you have a policy which explicitly states that the ring is covered then no worries - but here it is not possible to get this cover....

If had been a week earlier I would have been dinning with Dave Richards and Berny at my hotel (name droping).
