Got me some new wheels. I was quite suprised to see just how much thinner these 225 Toyos are compared to the 225 Bridgestones on the original 17's. Distinctly lacking in kerb protection now!!
Anyway, the pictures...
Sorry, it's shrunk my pics to 640x480, so they look a little blurred now... you get the idea though. I'm very please indeed!

I have been told that i cant stay on 225 45 if i go to an 18 wheel, they say i have to stay on 17 wheel with 45mm but yours still look the same as original, i have an sti8. I must say it looks outstanding, i wanted black but chose blue because i think it is harder to keep clean, do you find this?. How much did you pay?

Gnome, that's right, 45% on 18" will be too much and increase the rolling radius of the wheel, that's why you have to drop to 225/40. They're harder to keep clean in that dirt and dust shows up more readily on black, but if you enjoy cleaning and polishing as part of ownership of the car as I do, then it's not really a problem. Particularly when they look so stunning as a result.
Talizman, funnily enough, just after I'd got them yesterday, I saw a clio cup and commented to my Dad that I thought they were probably Speedline's labled Renault. Thanks for confirming that! I know what you mean about the Evo look, they are quite smilar to TME wheels, just not white obviously. They certainly give the car a little more bling in the flesh, whilst also looking a little more rally-esque.

Car look great - can't wait to get my Turini's on the Scoob.
There's loads of difference between the Toyo's & Potenza's there! Never compared mine (as I've normally sold the other's straight away when I've got a new set and this time won't be any different me thinks.

Just for information, I weighed both sets of wheels;
Standard 17" STi alloy + Bridgstone 225/45 = 22.3kg x4= 89.2
Speedline Turini 18" alloy + Toyo 225/40 = 19.4kg x4= 77.6
Weight saved = 11.6Kg

That car looks great! But then I have to say that as I've got one the same but with Prodrive 18" FF7's with Toyo's At 8" wide the wheels stretch the sidewalls and I think this has had the effect of stiffening them, the result, I find, is a rather "bobbly" ride (big boobed ladies form an orderly queue please!) This is a shame as I'm a fan of Toyo's. I also compared weights and found the 18" combo about 2.5 kg lighter! Let me know if you've found a difference in the ride quality?

Since you mentioned the bobbleyness, I've been wondering whether or not this is indeed the case with my car as well, but the difference really is quite small, and other than that I can detect no real changes in ride quality for day to day driving. I've not pushed it yet really, but my initial concern was that there would be less grip with the reduced foot print, but I'll have to wait and see.
Included some (slightly) better pictures... managed to get the lighting all wrong on this one lol.. forgot to meter it in the middle.
