I've just fitted a P1 lip and STiV6 to my uk 98my.... from drmotorsport !
I've only caught the ground once =- backing out of my pa's drive !
His whole estate is covered in speed ramps, but I just go SLOWLY ..
Anyhow , here is a pic

Has anyone got a picture of a p1 splitter on a MY98 3 slat bumper?
I am thinking about buying one from DR motorsport as they now do
them for the earlier bumpers

Sonic has a MY00, and genuine P1 splitter.
Sonic (Steve) if you get a chance would you measure the how much lower the Splitter is than the standard bumper. I'm tempted by Derek's copies but worried I'm gonna ground it over speed humps, getting into my drive etc..

Hi mate
dont think its any lower than 3 inches, but it is pretty close, most car parks I now have to reverse in, cos I dont want to smack the splitter on the kerbs
I think its better going over speed bumps, as it realy does make you slow down for them, 'just in case' but it does clear them, and im running with Eibachs too, so the car is a little lower anyway
I can take a proper measurement for you tomorrow

If you get a chance tomorrow i would be grateful. I'm running Leda B so I'm fairly low as it is, but obviously i have the option of raising the height a bit, Can't help thinking the new fronts gonna look strange without a splitter, and i'm not convinced about the STi6.

ok have measured it
on my car, I have 5.5 inches clearance, from the bottom of the splitter to the ground (with no-one in the car)
the Splitter is 4 inches, but this is the depth of the splitter, which sits along the line on the existing bumper
but allowing 4 inches should be enough, as the underside is slightly curved
I know I weigh next to nothing, but If I had at least two people in the car, then I wouldnt try and drive over anything that was more than 4 inches off the ground (speed bumps etc)

Thanks Steve
I'm pretty sure that will rule me out. I would be surprised if i had more than 6" clearance now without splitter, and i live in speed hump city. I've seen a couple of P1's using the roads around me, but i don't think a P1 is actually that low (well it can't ne cos i wouldn't get out of my dive if the the front was 3-4" lower)
worried now cos it might even rule out an STi6!!

I would imagine a P1 to be the same or roughly the same height as mine, as I believe P1's have Eibachs too, but with different Dampers
Im not too bad on my drive, cept I dont have a dropped kerb, so Im always careful there anyway, and a lot of the roads I go on, are full of speed bumps, some quite high, some pretty low
Where I used to drive straight over the lower ones (narrower than the width of my car) I now slow down, again 'just in case'
I know of at least one P1 owner who has removed his splitter so he can get in and out of his drive
I was going to go for the Sti 6 Splitter, but IIRC it isnt really that much lower than the std bumper

Good info guys, thanks
Gonna go have a measure and things after the Grand Prix, but if i need 5.5" clearance (approx) after fitting the splitter, and the splitter is going to lower my car by about 4 inches, i think i know the answer now!!
Hey-ho, prolly have to phone Cheam and order an STi6 me thinks. Don't suppose anyone has a link to pics of a MY99-00 with P1 lamps and an STi6 splitter do they, or opinions on how it would look. I'm not convinced.

That p1 lip looks great in red
How was the fit?
If the whole depth of the lip is 4", would you say the front was
lowered by about another 2".
The reason i ask is that my garage is on a slope and i will have to be careful with ground clearance.
Thanks for all the help

Car looks good Mark with the P1 splitter and STi 6 rear spoiler. I've saved the picture if that's ok?
Greg, I would say it does lower the front by about 2" from the original bumper.
I have a similar type on my STi7 and don't have any problems with speed bumps, etc. But I do try to watch when parking nose first into kerbs.

David - no problem...
Greg - The fit was fine. The main thing was to fit the lip where it wanted to go, and not force it... Once it was on (bought 30 seconds!), it stays where you put it - I drilled two pilot holes under the wheel arches, then opened them up to clearance hole size in the lip itself and put in the 2 screws supplied by David. It didn't bother with the sealant.
