Now they are rims! The ultimate rim for a scoob IMHO. They look brilliant Beastie.
No problems with 18s on a classic then?
Enjoy!
Cheers,
Wrexy.

Thanks everyone, the car drives beautifully with them on. I thought the ride may have become crashy but not a bit. The pressures are 31 psi just now which may be a bit low. Immediately I noticed that the turn in seemed sharper, but I had also just had a full geometry check at the front.
The car also is noticeably quieter, I had 17s(RB5 standard) on before with the same tyres Toyo T1-s so a direct comparison, although the old tyres were gubbed.
Ozzy, yes those are the Godspeed 335mm brake kit. Exshhhhellleeennnttt Mr Bond. All the better to outbrake you Blofeld.............

I got them through scoobyworld. Cost was 1350GBP with locking wheelnuts thrown in. I believe they are about 1800 from a Subaru dealer. Just checked at Scoobyworld still there http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/trolleyed/6/index.htm
I too wondered long and hard about anthracite, but the wife got involved and that was the end of that......Gold it is then I said (half agreeing.
Ive always wanted gold wheels for years now, so now at last I can get it out my system although most have moved on to Anthracite. I think its only a matter of time before everyone comes back to Gold. I also didnt want them confused with P1 wheels i.e. P1 cast offs.
Of course having the RB5 platinum wheels before, i do feel i have moved on.

This car looks the bizniss!
I have just placed an order for some OZ Superleggras on 18' Toyos in anthracite for a Silver MY99 classic. (Ripspeed £1100)
If they look anywhere near as good as this, I will be well pleased although I must say!
Awesome!

Thanks to everyone, i am quite overwhelmed by the response.
Ozzy, the Godspeed brakes are fantastic.I had to fit the first anti-rattle plate at the back of each pad though so that they stopped their incredible squealing in slow stop/start traffic. (Mintex pads) This also cured the noise of the pads rattling which was also driving me bonkers.
Scoobyjew, i think you did the right thing, I had a silver scooby before and never thought gold wheels would look right.
Drumsterphil-go on, you know you want to!!
Cheers

I prefer the gold to the anthracite. Especially on the RB5. The golds stand out, whereas the anthracite would look a bit dull being similar in colour to the grey of the car.
You did the right thing Beastie!

Wrexy.

Beastie,
When I buy wheels, it will be those ones, in gold. I will have no other! Are you willing to bring me a set when you come here?
Cheers,
Wrexy.

My suitcase isnt big enough. You can do your own dirty work and you wont have to pay vat either. However, if there is anything (legal)that will fit in my suitcase let me know......
Simb
Got the conversion kit (335mm discs-grooved only-my preference) and goodridge hoses during the last group buy. Cost was 550quid. Fitted by AWD in Perth at extra cost.
Cheers

Beastie,
Top looking with the Gold P-WRC1 wheels, i am thinking of doing exactly the same with my RB5 !!!
I have one question for you, what tyre size did you go for and do you get any fouling on the rear arches ??
Cheers
Dave

Cheers for that Beastie,
I was not sure whether to go for 225/35-18 as they are a nearly identical to the rolling radius of 205/45-17 standard RB5 wheels. However i had heard some cases of these rubbing !!!
Guess it will be 215/35-18 to go for as i know they are safe then !!
One other question, i presume they are 18"x7.5" with a 53mm offset ?
Cheers again
