A few people have been asking what the colour coding effect looks like, and about side protection strips...

After...

and, for reference, before...

The strips do a good job of protecting from car park idiots to a certain extent. You could also colour code them, but I think they break the car nicely given that there's black on the rest of the wagon too.

Will clean it today and post a couple more pics

Yep, you're right - it does bring it down to meet the ground a little. My old MY00 was colour coded... There wasn't chance to get this one colour coded from day one, as I picked it up about 5 days after ordering it

Looks good tho - I'm pleased. Just needs PPP now

Looks good. Have you thought about adding bumper guards too. A bit steep at 55 quid but like the side mouldings would help to break it up.

I've just ordered a WRX Wagon for collection after Easter. Like you couldn't decide on colour. Finally chose silver after seeing your pics. PPP and waist spoiler to be fitted at first service.

4x4 - let me know the dealership, and I'll contact 'em to collect my commission

The corner strips I'm not sure about. After seeing them in the brochure, I'm not convinced. Might try them, might not. I think the lip spoiler looks good on the 5 door too.

My wife is almost convinced on the merits of PPP. Getting there on that one

Wagons are great - everyone, but everyone, assumes that they're a lot slower than the saloon. All the more satisfying

Lower it. Makes all the difference.

Tints win too.

JackClark - that looks the business. Who says bug-eyes are ugly! I think the 02 and 03 models look so much better in 5 door form, plus there's more of a 'Q -car' factor.

LOL at Chiark. Commission due only on the paint I'm afraid. Decided on the Wagon a long time ago.

Seriously considering tinting, and again my wife is quite happy with the idea for security and other reasons.

Not sure about lowering, I reckon the handling is pretty good and I don't want it any stiffer really. At least, that's what I'm saying at the moment

Ride is still very comfortable on the Prodrive springs, a lot sharper though

chiark - you seem to be suffering the effects of brake dust as badly as me...

and I'm only doing the gentle running in thing!

Yep, brake dust does seem a lot worse for some reason? Wierd...

Jack, thanks for that. Might have to add it to the "future" list of mods then

Good stuff David - I'll drop you a mail. I want an excellent job done rather than something that looks a little pony in a few months... Was thinking of going to use Dr Clifford, but if there's someone good locally

Nick, add me to the tints list

We could get both done at the same time, thus save money?

Pepe? Did he used to have a Fiat punto/something fiat with shedloads of ICE? I *think* I might know him distantly...
