Thnx Disco.

I took the picture in the beginning of this year. It was snowing very hard and I just love to drive in the snow.
Positive point.... You canŽt get cooler air on your intercooler with all that snow on the bonnet

Just one little note:
Be carefull with a lot of snow on the ground.
As you can see, my wheels are filled with snow. When I had to brake a little, I noticed that the snow was also between the brake pads. The brake delay was less than in normal circumstances.

Grtz.

Hans
Ps: I have more snowpics. Maybe I post them later, or IŽll put them on my site.

Hans,

Cool pictures mate!

I have a question with regards driving in snow. Last year, between Christmas and New Year, we had heavy snow and I had to drive on untreated roads covered in snow.
Unfortunatly I had to go down a steep hill that had been made smooth by people wheel spinning coming up.
When I started to tiptoe down the hill, I found that my boot decided it wanted to go first and I ended up sliding sideways until I went backwards through a dry stone wall!!

So, what's the best way to drive down steep hills in the snow in a Scooby then?

Cheers

Mojo

Welcome aboard Hans.

Very nice car. I like the mesh in the scoop and also the blanks under the blinkers. And ofcourse those seats with the alcantara trim. Looks great.

I saw a stars 25 in The Netherlands when I came to Subaru Aalsmeer to buy my MY00 last year. Actually it was at the dealer getting serviced. He had the PPP fitted to it and it looked and sounded great.

All the people in The Netherlands were very friendly and helpful. From the staff at the dealer to the people on the streets. They went out of their way to help me. I'll never forget it.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

If its the same method as driving a 4x4 down a slippery steep hill you should accelerate very slow. Not what you would think?

Thnx guys for your reactions.

Mojo:
About a steep hill....Now youŽre asking something
My idea, just let the car roll.DonŽt touch the handbrake, because the rear wheels may block and then you certainly will spin around.I also have my doubts about the foot brakes. My thoughts are, that if you use the foot brake on a steep hill, the cars weight will push on the front wheels and the car will also turn.My opinion, just let the car roll and slow it down with the clutch (slowing down on the engine)

I hope you hadnŽt to much damage.

Wrexy:
I like the mesh under the blinkers also.Better than the original orange grill.
Now just a few clear blinkers and itŽs done

When I bought the car, I also noticed that itŽs just something like "join the family"-feeling. Everywhere I meet Scooby drivers-owners, there is a handwave, lights blinking or a chat. I like it very much how the relation is between Sub-owners or -likers.
I even noticed it when I mailed with a person in the USA.Everyone is just so helpfull. GREAT I think.

You imported your Scoob from The Netherlands?
Is it then LHD or did you convert it to RHD?

With regards,

Hans

Cool

Hans,

I moved to Greece last year, so my car is LHD. They had some RHD cars for some UK customers too. Apparently you could order either LHD or RHD. Subaru Benelux brings both versions.

Yes Scooby owners are very helpful. This bbs has helped me out heaps. It also is the icing on the cake for scooby ownership. You are right it is one big family.

Enjoy your car!!!

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Hello Wrexy.

Hmmm Greece.Nice country or not? probably something else than the UK
IŽm considering to go to Greece next year for holiday. But then it should be in the same period as the FIA Rally, so I can see thatone also.

Subaru Benelux brings both versions (LHD & RHD)? Oh I didnŽt know that.
But if they can deliver both versions, then I want from them a LHD 22B. I donŽt think they can manage that.To bad.... But from the other side, I think that one would be a bit to expensive

I enjoy my car everytime I drive or even see it.Mostly that is in the weekends.
And yes the BBS is very helpfull.I also check the Dutch BBS often.

Grtz,

Cool

Hello Hans,

Greece is nice. Great in summer. Lovely beaches, clubs, pubs, cafes etc.

Subaru Benelux only brings in the Euro spec scoobies, in LHD and RHD unfortunately. I wanted an STI but no one in Europe could supply one for me in LHD.

I sometimes go into the Dutch BBS too, but I only read the English guest section. Top stuff.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Nice car Hans, I almost went for the same car when I ordered mine, but could not afford the extra over the std GT Turbo so ended up with a silver one of those instead.

Dutch dealers are only too happy to order RHD cars for UK customers (most of the ones I asked anyway) saved me many thousand pounds They do charge a suppliment for providing a car to UK spec, I think it was around Ł1500.

Due to an error yesterday when I tried to change my Modifications, the introduction page on top of this topic disappeared.
How strange, but below the topic that used to stand on top of the replies.

With regards,

Hans de Jong

Howdie Folks.

IŽve been browsing and reading the BBS for a while, and decided to share my pics with you and to introduce myself.
As you probably know, Subaru is also very famous in The Netherlands, especially de Impreza 555/GT Turbo.

Below the pics of my car:

Specs:
Subaru Impreza GT Turbo Stars25 (Special Edition 1999)
Color: Mica Black

Stars25 specs:
Blue Alcantara interior
Parts of the Dash in Titanium color
Everything exterior color coded
Gold 16" alloys
Keyless Entry
Card lights
From this edition, in the color Mica Black, are about 40 cars in The Netherlands.

Modifications:
* Removed the original air box and replaced it with a KN57i-kit.
* ScOoBySpOrT Backbox
* In the front(intake intercooler, radiator and below the front indicators) I put some "wire mesh".
* Class III Alarm

Wishes:
To much to write down.
Probably starting with the Scooby Sport Downpipe and Center Section or with gauges(canŽt decide which brand),
then the shocks and springs,strutbars,brakes,FMIC,Chip....
You name them, itŽs just to much.

Greetings,

Hans de Jong

Edit: Added ScOoBySpOrT Backbox

And again an update:

* Colour-coded Foglamp caps have been fitted.
* Also bought me a 3-point belt (left and right) in the colour blue, but might change to 4-point.(company who delivered them, said the 4-point wasn't available in blue, but they are!! (I found out)
* KN57-i kit removed a long time ago. And just to be sure, had the MAF-sensor replaced for a new one.

New pics soon available.

Regards,

Hans
