Hi, Here are some pics of the new wing that I am developing. The actual wing will be quite flat and fit on in a similar way to a 22b type, and will incorpirate a brake light.I am after a bit of feedback as its not too late to alter size/angles etc. Price will be £200~£250.
Cheers Rob

Not at the moment to be honest. It is impossible to design these parts unless I actualy had a MY01 to work on. Unfortunatley (well, I love it actually) I own a 93WRX.
Cheers Rob.

I think it would look better painted red...the white contrasts just a little too much with the original paint work. If it was black it would remind me of a corgi batmobile I once owned!!

Looks good so far Rob.
When you say it'll be like the 22b one, I presume the wing will be set slightly down from the top of the uprights?
Are you thinking of making the wing angle adjustable? Why, I don't know, maybe I'm just a poser
One question that always crosses my mind about bigger wings - does the extra weight cause the bootlid to self-close at all? (My Scoob's a MY98 with the low wing - no such problem.)
Just a thought as the old man's Montego tow-car has a great rubber wing that seems way too heavy and makes the damn thing close on your head if you aren't careful!! Can you adjust the bootlid springs on a Scooby to compensate if so?
Keep up the good work mate.
Cheers,
Steve

Wasnt planning on making it adjustable, Ive nearly finished the former for the actual wing so will get some pics of it assembled, with brake light, tomorrow.
The wing I sell at the moment is about the same weight as the OE item, so this one shouldnt be much heavier, have to wait and see. Not sure about the springs, will check.
Cheers Rob.

Hi. Ive updated the pictures, obviously theres a fair bit of work to do yet but I am pleased with it so far. Brake light will be housed where the cut out is in the wing.
Cheers Rob.

Looking Good Rob..
Looks like you may be seeing some of my money .. and I'm only down the road from you.
Can you make it very hard for the thieving little ***** to get off. I reckon they'll give up if they feel it's really solid. I got fed up of losing the one of the AX , just fell off in their hands!!!!!
Andy
PS.. Everyone's post now make no sense at all

Andy, I cant promise that the thieving little ***** wont rip it off, but I will be testing it up to 150mph, and if you can imagine sticking your arm out of the window at that speed, then you will realise it must be strong (please dont try it )
Michelle, I am glad you "only " have a 94'WRX and I must say it is looking great after the repairs. I love scoobys for the car that they are, not how old they are . Cheers Rob.

Did someone say 94 WRX... ... Me too..!
I like the wing, looks good. The only point i would make, would be to make the top fin a bit straighter (not so angled) and give it a gradual lip towards the back... F1 Kinda design.. ..

I think you could do something with the colour schemes. The two uprights could be in red, and the horizontal in brilliant white. Red and white compliment each other very well. Perhaps you could contiune the theme to the bits below the bumper and the side skirts, perhaps even the front

What's the deal from an insurance angle in fitting a new rear wing? My thoughts are that the car has obviously been in the wind tunnel with the original wing. What would happen in the event of a high-speed crash? Could the insurance company claim that the rear wing had caused high-speed instability?

Carl, I think that the insurance issue is something you would have to take up with your own insurance company. The practical answer to that is ,as far as I believe, most spoilers dont realy start to have much effect until you are breaking the speed limit anyway! The wing will not be tested in a wind tunnel, as is the case with the majority of after market producers, the cost would be huge, and the spioler would end up costing way more than a genuine Subaru item. What I can say is that it will be tested either on a race track or air field (yet to confirm a location) up to top speed to confirm strength.
logix, I am afraid that I will not be doing any direct coppies of P1 stuff, or STi stuff, dont want to infringe on any copyrights.
Cheers Rob.
