Question

Can anyone post some pics of their OE light covers with these stickers in position as I have just received some covers/stickers and want to know the exact location of the stickers in relation to the covers.
By the way my car is an MY00 uk model in DBM

Thanks Nige

Question

Thanks lads much appreciated.
Ive noticed mine hace three metal clips for fixing, two slot into two pre drilled slits in the top of the front spoiler, the third clip at the bottom doesn't seem to slot anywhere???
It just rubs on the spoiler???
Any ideas????

Here is the information from hol's post..!!!

And here are the dimensions of the brackets.
You dont need to replicate the exotic shape, just use a L shped but of metal that ends in the same place - In relation to the rivet hole.

If you've got the DR Motorsport-supplied ones, you file out a little hole in the bottom of the foglight hole to accept the third 'tab'.

Looked on the TSL website and the picture showing the foglight covers is exactly the same picture as on the DR Motorsport site. Therefore, I conclude they're the same covers.

Mine came with instructions

Didn't use the STi stickers though -- I got salsa-king to knock me up some of these:

Janne, they are different from the ones I received from TSL there isn't a pre drilled hole to secure the covers on with mine, so they are easy to steal
Where did you get those from and how much did they cost???
thanks Nige

Carl,
what did you pay for your covers??
How secure do they feel with only the three clips holding them in???
Has the bottom clip danmaged your paintwork???

Cheers

I have a hole that I filed out in the bumper to accept the bottom clip, so no the bumper paintwork isn't damaged but of course it does have a hole in it. I guess if I were to put the foglights back in instead then it'd look crap unless I filled and coloured the hole.

They've been in for about 18 months now and haven't fallen out in normal use. One fell out when I clouted a cone on a trackday, so I'd recommend you take them out for track use:

Can't remember how much they were, but I got them from DR Motorsport

Rasher, stupidly I bought them from MRT in Australia
It was expensive, taxes, duites, etc....but the good thing was that the bracket and bolts to fit, were included in the package.
Must be available in UK too, but I do not know where, sorry.

Thanks again,Janne I don't think they are available in the UK, wish they were. Carl, I was under the impression the covers could be fitted over the lights, without taking them out???
Am I wrong??

I think they can, but one of my foglights was broken so I took them both out.

If anyone can shed any light as to where you can buy the parts Janne has it would be much appricieted. They look like the original covers from Subaru where as the ones from DR / TSL etc are not.

Thanks

The genuine Subaru covers are available from Graham Goode Racing but they are not cheap.....I bought a set for my 95 wrx (earlier shape covers)

http://www.grahamgoode.com/cgi-bin/page.pl?car=subaru&page=lighting.htm

For the later shape covers you are looking at well over 200 quid including the fitting kit which allows them to go over the lamps.

They do however come with EVERYTHING you need and they do fit perfectly first time so I was happy

On the earlier shape covers which I have, the brackets fit to the original fog light fixing bolts (which would be the same position for both import and uk models I would imagine).

SO....if the same principle applies then you should have no problems. Give Graham Goode a call....they are very helpful and its likely they are carrying all the parts in stock

Nige,
Have been following your efforts on these covers with interest as I would like to fit some as well.
If I am correct, I remember your car from Donnington last year in the show and shine, absolutely stunning as I recall

However, what I can't find like you is somebody who can supply a OEM lookalike cover (i.e. with srew holes), quality painted for an acceptable price. I don't wish to start drilling holes and stuff.

Keep us up to date with your progress.

Cheers

Hi Allen, yes I was at Donington last year in the 'show and shine'.
I bought the covers from TSL. I was quite specific to Paul about not drilling/filing any holes in the car's bodywork. I was assured they would clip in without the need for any of this.
When they arrived I noticed there were 3 metal clips on the covers, and only 2 holes in the spoiler, plus no instructions and or fitting kit???
I thought the third clip must fit behind something so I tried to put it on carefully I might add. On doing so I noticed that they didn't 'sit' properly so I carefully took them out.
On doing so I have managed to scratch part of the lower lip of the spoiler where I thought the third clip must go, my own fault, but obviously I am not happy.
I have e mailed Paul and Lesley at TSL three times since yesterday but still have not received a reply. I sure I will in due course.
It therefore makes me wonder whether these are not the right covers for my car so I will therefore be sending them back.

Will keep you informed

Nige

Mine cost about 70 quid painted. You're paying an extra £160 or so to not have to drill a couple of holes in the front bumper?
1) If you leave them on, you won't see the hole
2) The hole's not very big anyway
3) You don't get a horrible screw head sticking out of the cover
4) For £160 you could either fill the hole and get Chips Away to colour it in (fill in all the stonechips while they're at it) or source a second-hand front bumper or a new front lip.

Still, yer pays yer money....

hopefully they will not be very easy to steal with that anchoring screw
I was paying TSL £182.14 for some that didn't fit as I would like therefore I would rather pay a little more and have the OE stuff
as you say you pays your money....
