Wink

I assume the car was tethered in some way. Not a pretty sight if the front wheels came off that single roller...

Cool

Here are the results:

FYI, we loose 45hp and about the same amount of torque when dynoing to the front wheels.

Cheers,

I dont mean to put a downer on any of this - but Power Engineerings FAQ about rolling roads says - and i quote:

"Another customer told us his Impreza was tested on a rolling road with the bonnet up, the explanation given was that "you get better cooling that way"! Be careful out there."

Any comments on this - did you do the run with the bonnet open?

Jza,

I don't quite understand what you are saying. Is it somehow dangerous running with the bonnet open? We standed in a safe area during each run, although I was getting my ear as close to the motor as possible. I was of course trying to listen for any detonation. I can only imagine how hot it would be under there if I left it closed. My manifold air temps with the bonnet open were over 150F. It was cold that day, so they had the heaters on. I was only making 7psi on the dyno. My test run outside was seeing over 9psi

For those who don't know, the car uses an EJ25, a 2.5 liter 9.7:1 compression motor. Every pound of boost yields roughly 15hp, so a 2psi jump is a very big deal.

Sorry mate,

I just remebered reading the PE FAQ and they said you shouldnt do it with the bonnet up at all. Suggest you read the website FAQ and maybe contact them for info. Id hate you to be damaging your car if thats what its doing!!
