Well, all being well my car is being sold on Tuesday.
Valeted it today with the Zymol "Subaru" wax. I bought it with the car, and there's more than half left!
Don't worry, not I'm not leaving scoobydom

It is easy to get the car looking that good - I'm from around your way so will give you a hand if you want... I just had to post a photo though, as the results are *stunning*. I hope the new owner's pleased

I'm an Auto Glym boy which is probably my downfall.
<mental note> I must buy some top notch polishing gear.
I have a common Impreza owners problem I get the evil voices which whisper, Defi, Ecutek to name a couple. Unfortunately power seems to win over shine

I hear those voices, but my wife tells me not to
Given that a single pot of wax has lasted me over 3 years regular use now, I'm converted . The next owner has Big Plans for power, I think. I'll be gutted if/when he breaks the 300bhp mark with "my" car

I hope he's picking it up at yours, wouldn't want to take it out and get it dirty after all that effort
You'll need to do the new one ASAP as nothing beats the Wizards shine

I never used a wax on any car I've owned, so what's the main difference between say Autoglym polish and Zymol Wax, apart from the shine?
Do you use it the same way as a polish? Wash the Scoob and then just wax and buff off?
Thanks

Wax is just that - it's a wax, not a polish. I'm trying to think of what it's like, and the best way to describe it is a soft paste.
This stuff was actually made by Mark Underwood (Wax Wizard) over three years ago; I'd recommend his stuff from my own experience.
A polish tries to cleanse and enrich paint at the same time. This system cleanses using a cleaner (only once about 6 months) then enriches the paint with a wax (about once a month/fortnight/however you feel...)
It's really dead easy to use

Nope - crossroads garage, treddington. Yes, a UK subaru dealer. They were willing to cut a deal, and with the exchange rate as it is, I hate to say that importing wasn't worth it...

Have you told the importingimprezas list?
[I know what you mean about the exchange rate -- looks like we got away with it as we picked up my wife's Pug CC in December, but I've heard of someone who saved only £200 on a £10k car ]

Tell me about it! I was on the bus this morning, sitting next to someone who really ought to do something about their personal hygiene. Still, only two more days of that...
