Hi, these are some of my pics from the Jack Frost stages at Croft, 18/01/2003.
They were taken with a Cannon EOS300V using a 75-300 lens and Fuji Superia 800 Film. It's my first time out with the camera so any comments will be welcomed (oh yeah, the actual prints look much better than the scans!)

The pics have been cropped a lil bit in Paint Shop Pro but that's it.
The RS200's were both course cars so not actually competing but it was still amazing to see them especially as I'm a bit of a Ford man at heart
The sound of the 6R4's was incredible too

Bob...one thing you could try is putting the camera on manual and setting a pretty slow shutter speed,ie 1/15 and try panning.ie moving with the car. You'll get a sharp car and a blurred background.
BTW...good pics mate.

very impressive photographs. I spent sunday at Donington with a borrowed Minolta SLR and a small zoom lens and had great fun taking some pictures, but none came out any where near as good as these. Looks like it was good weather for it.

wow, thanks for the comments! I quite like them but think there's loads more to come yet, gonna monkey about with different films and a mate is gonna lend me a mono pod
I was trying to pan with the car, found it a bit tricky at first but got better as the day went on, that last white mkII Escort going mega sideways was one of the last shots of the day.
From the pics it looks a nice day, it was chuffin freezing though I'm sooo glad I lashed out on a good coat and boots
I'm also quite surprised at the difference the monitor makes, I posted the pics from work and wasn't impressed at all, but that's on a TFT, I'm at home now with a proper monitor and the qaulity is much better!

Very nice pics
I started out with an EOS 300 try and get the battery pack grip err BP100 i think ??
The bigest problem i found was the lag from pressing the shutter button to the shutter closing at the time i was taking alot of pics of motor bikes and found it quite hard to get the bike in the center of the pic.
I ended up buying an EOS 1n which realy has been a great piece of kit.
Have a look out for a good 2nd hand 70-200 f2.8, they arnt cheep but are nice fast and flexible lenses, the canon ones are mega expencive but Sigma ones arnt to bad.
As i said very nice first try.

The black things on the RS200's also house the intercooler, it's mahoosive and runs accross the roof Also, a guy on there asked about the car behind, it is a Metro 6R4 and not a Renault

I'm trying to make a shortlist as I want to enter the photo competion on www.britishrally.co.uk if you could note your fave, that would be great, ta
From this batch I think my faves are the RS200s on the start and the RS200 with the boot up.
(these ones need rescanning to meet the size criteria)
