well after wanting a big brake upgrade, one thing comes to stop me....money!
so in the mean time i've had the brake calipers with EBC's front and rear.
fitted them friday and yesterday they started to bed in lovely.
Red stuff are fitted on the front and Green on the rear.
i went for these brakes after talking to Jay Burgess from EBC at Max Power show.
he was saying that scoobs get problems when shops 'push' Green stuff on the front! he says Scoobs want Red for general driving and Yellow for track!
not Green!!
i'm well impressed with the stopping power so far, but i'll keep you posted on how they perform over the next few months.
very pleased with them and at a fraction of the price of going BIG.
a good option for scoob drivers (like me) on a tight as a ducks **** bugdet.
Phil
edited cus i don't think i can put Jewish budget...so i've put 'ducks ****' lol

Whatever you do .......... don't use 'GREEN' up front, I'm sure they were the cause of my OE discs warping, because the surface area of 'GREENS' is not as much as the OE Subaru pads, hence the cost, can't comment on 'REDS' though. The EBC man was right, mine didn't last five minutes ....... Not to worry though , cos I got a nice big brake kit a couple of months ago and find them superb , and I am considering the 'dimpled and grooved' discs for the rear !?!?!

don't YOU follow me any where either! LM-WRX
problems arise when the discs arn't fitted properly, jay burgess was saying that you have to make sure the discs are sitting correct, thats why they use that magnectic thing that runs round the disc to see that its all lined up, he said scoobs have only about 2k'th of a mil tollerance (or something like that) if not not right they can cause the warping effect etc.
we'll see how i go!

Phil,

or just get these: http://www.dba.com.au/WRX/wrx_5000series.asp

Have you got customised ducting onto your brakes?
That is one of the cheapest upgrades to do to brakes!!! A lot of the Evo owners do it to stop the warping of the discs due to excessive heat.
Good tip, well worth doing and not mocking.

I've got exactly the same set up and they are better than standard. The other night I gave them a mega test and completly killed them. When I pulled over smoke was pouring out Neil thought I'd blown the engine, had a look and the disks were glowing bright red burning the pads. I've never seen disks go like that. They seem ok now though, no warping. Neil could have carried on for hours mind, thats the difference with APs
The first set I warped within 1500 miles and killed the pads in 3000 miles but it was apparently the way they'd been fitted. They swaped them free of charge and I got the ones like yours (less grooves more holes) and V2 pads and they seem alot better.
