My Turbo 2000 Classic with 37k
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum.
I thought I would show you my new toy. It's a Turbo 2000 with just 37,000 miles. I've only had it little over a week. It's been meticulously maintained and the service book has run out of spaces to stamp. I've just had the oil and filter changed a few days ago.
Thanks and look forward to getting to know you all
Chris

Looks lovely. Suggest you rustproof it, especially the rear arches before the rot sets in. My classic went to 150,000 very reliable miles.
I had the PIAA setup on mine. Expensive but good.
I've a wheel left over if you want it. Oxfordshire.

Could of cried to be honest.
Rust proofing will be something definitely on my list over the next few months.
As is refurbishing the wheels.....if any of them are beyond refurbishing I'll give you a shout. Thanks

Looks a very clean example, but as mentioned earlier definitely get rustproofing sorted out.
My 1999 UK turbo was bought on 75k and I doubled that over the next five years of ownership as it was a daily driver, adding 15k every year.
Oil changes every 5k miles, timing belt changed as scheduled, and the engine was totally reliable during my term of ownership.
The main problem with these cars is rust, especially around the rear arches. What looks like a few small external bubbles will inevitably be way more extensive once you start investigating further.
As an aside mine also had the sunroof option, plus the leather seats.

Don't just look at the rear arches tho'. The hidden rust/rot spot is way up high in the rear arches where you can only feel with an extended arm or see when on a car lift. And it rots towards the interior of the car, where its a double skin. Trouble is, there's no wheel arch liner on the rears unlike on the fronts.
In fact, read this thread.

I've been meaning to bring the 4 pots back to life, so this has been as good a time as any to do them.
Quite happy with the results, although I would of preferred them to be a little darker. Wanted the best standard OEM look possible
Forgive the state of the alloys. They're the next part of the project!

A car is worth what I want to pay for it. I decide who pulls my pants down thankyou as said above, find another.....well actually I did find another with similar miles but the MOT history was a bit "rusty", if you see what I mean.....

I'm hoping somebody on this forum can point me in the right direction to get a replacement. I have found that sizes vary and I'm having a nightmare trying to source one.
I love this car, always wanted one and finally bit the bullet, safe to say I'm not disappointed 😁👍

Not much more to report. Since I've had it, I've had the rocker cover gaskets replaced, the gearbox and differential oils changed. I've put on the P7's. Not getting used much at the minute, it's now on just over 39,000 miles.

While I'm all for prices going up, £19k is surely a bit optimistic yet. Who knows in a few years....
That said, I'd probably snap somebody's arm off for mine if they offered me that much, and mines much lower mileage.
