world wide, 800 in the US, some EU, there was only 25 imported into the UK in RHD, all the rest were left hand drive.

Biggest differences,

Rearer lip spoiler (Same as A Line)
Black Brake calipers (Normal are Gold)
Black Centre console (Same as S204 etc)
Different engine (not sure on exact differences, the code is different though)
Different gearbox (Again different code but not sure whats actually different)

Then similarities with the Spec D,

Leather seats
Fog Lights
No roof spoiler

Looking good Tidgy, did the original engine fail in the usual 2.5 manner?

no mate, nothing wrong with it. Was looking at selling up and going C63 but only got crap offers so decided to keep it and dont want the hassel of it going down the line.

ALso cheaper to do it now while its fine than waiting till it fails

Bit of an update.

Engine was pulled, stripped and found to have the early signs of head gasket failure, although was only visual signs of begging to fail, not actual failure. So dodged a bullet on that one, wasn't gonna be long before it would have gone. Other than valve guide wear was in pretty good nick. Got the car back and started doing the running in, but ended up going in to hospital for an operation so delayed things. Finally finished the running in so now waiting for a slot to get booked in for a few bits and then mapping.

To do list,

Geom (looks like i've hit a pot hole or sumit)
Oil cooler
3 port boost sol
remap

It also had a perrin inlet pipe fitted while it was apart, hoping for 330 ish as its got a full hayward and scott sports cat system

gonna be a while till i need to decide that, need to sort syvecs first, then front mount, clutch etc etc. last thing will prob be fuel system and turbo.

That said i expect it will be SC50/GT30 derivative aka the latest version from clinic haha

same seats as in a spec D. As far as difference between the seats from an SL im not 100% sure, i think they are the same? sure someone will know better if not.

But it's an STI as a whole car, not a wrx

I'm almost certain Spec D and WRX SL had the same leather interior.

Did you get a 6 speed fitted too?

Sorry, couldn't resist.
