Default 2006 Hawk WRX Daily

Hi guys, I've been lurking these forums for a while in preperation for buying my first scoob. Bought this car as a new daily / project car. After taking it to a Subaru specialist, it turned out that the car is in great shape; a perfect stariting point for building my dream car. I want to make this car a jack of all trades, something that is great to drive on a daily basis, fun on country roads, quick on the track, looks good and is still practical and reliable. Im not planning to upgrade the turbo and get huge power or anything like that but rather tune the car to its current potential of about 300 horsepower with a turboback exhaust and a protune. I have spent more time than I probably should have researching exacly what parts to buy to make the car all that I want it to be so I ended up with a rather specific list of modifications that I want to do to the car. If you guys are interested, I’ll document the build as it progresses and keep you updated so that I can share this exiting journey with my fellow petrolheads on this website.

Anyway, enough rambling, here are some actual info about the car:

It’s a 2006 WRX, known as the hawkeye, in world rally blue. It has BC coilover suspension making the WRX feel almost like a big go-kart but is still comfortable enough in daily use. It has been slightly lowered and also has whiteline anti roll bars and poly bushings as well as beefier drop links. Other mods include a prodrive backbox (sounds nice but is very quiet) and a pro remap to 262 horsepower. All these mods were done by the previous owner but suited me great as I was planning to preform the same mods if I had bought a completely stock car.

With a very limited budget (I blew all of my savings on the car) I wanted to improve the interior look of the car so I wraped the central console in carbon wrap (the paint on it was really scratched up), fitted the red JDM hazard button and bought a metal, weighted gear ****. The kenwood radio was fitted by the previous owner and while not the best system in the world, it has got GPS and I can connect my phone to it to play music so I’m happy.

So, that’s my new car, let me know what you guys think and let me know if you’re interested in seeing the upcoming mods in the hopefully near future.

Better pictures are coming soon, as soon as the sun is out, Ill take some good pics with my DSLR.

Thanks for reading,
Dan
