Suspension recommendations (WRX Hawk, daily driver)
Hi Guys,
I know this has been done to death but most of the threads are slightly older so I wanted to confirm current thoughts
I have a hawk-eye WRX (06) that has done ~60k. I've got the knocking from the rears and the car feels a lot less 'focused' than it used too.
I'm looking to at the very least correct the knocking noise so am after suggestions.
The car is my daily driver (about 100 miles a day, mainly M25), and is also my only car, so a track car is not an option.
I also would like as a minimum to retain/ improve on the current handling (minus the knocking!). Suggestions and why please!

So, it appears my only option (without going coil overs) is:
"Kayaba ultra SR series" (according to Camskill).
This will run me £450 for the set and then fitting on top... ouch. Anyone have any experience of the ultra series?

I done the spray grease way on Monday and all is still well. There is a thread on here telling you what to do. It cost me 6 quid for the tin of spray so could do that just to get rid of the knocking. If you need more info I would be happy to help. Cheers

I'm in the process of the grease nipple mod on some "spare" STi blobeye struts which I obtained. I'll let you know how I get on, but from what I've read - lower end (sub £1500) coilovers will degrade your driving experience for daily driver type stuff - and a set of refurbed OEM shocks are by far the better option.

Many thanks for the offers of help! I think I'm keen to swap out the shocks as I have little confidence and am far to lazy to remember to grease them
Understand the budget coilover concerns, but these are not coilovers just standard shocks so should be fine on that front.
As the car is purely a commuter car I don't want to make the ride any harder, just hoping to turn it into a good example of what it should be!

So parts ordered. New bouncy bits and a 60k service is leaving me stupidly skint. And of course it's road tax time too
Hopefully will be fitted over the next couple of weeks by Rich @ FB, I'll update here to let you guys know if it was money well spent!
