Default My 1999 Classic Impreza UK 2000 Turbo

Hi,

For the 1st time since I bought the car I have taken some photos after washing it.
Bought last year for £2k. Was in very good condition. Inside like new. Few weeks later, after a full service, took it to a track and the poor engine decided to annihilate itself in spectacular fashion.

The engine was rebuilt and upgraded to a 2.1 stroker engine.
Since then its had a few upgrades:
  • 2.1 Stroker Engine with forged internals
  • Upgraded Oil Pump
  • Upgraded Fuel Pump
  • Oil Sump Baffles
  • 17"x7.5 Team Dynamics 1.2 Alloys with Eagle F1 types.
  • Front and Rear Whitelines anti roll bars
  • Strut Support
  • Under chassis H-frame
  • BC Coilovers
  • Front 8 pot 330mm K-Sports
  • Rear 2 pot brakes
  • Alcatek ECU
  • K&N Induction Kit + Mafless setup
  • STI 6 Speed Gearbox + Drive Shafts
  • Custom racing clutch
  • Tinted Windows
  • New Stereo + Very nice speakers in front and back.
  • Toucan - Touchscreen Digital Gauges + PIN Protected Immobiliser

In a months time it's going back into the garage to get the following:
  • STI 5 Heads
  • MD321H Turbo
  • Injectors
  • STI Intercooler
  • H&S 3" Exhaust

The rear arches were bubbling, and when they were rolled it took the paint off. These were fixed at a classic car restoration company.

All work carried out by Andy at Richard Henry Motorsports in Bradford:

Rusty arches taken care of his son, Steve, at SH Restorations in Keighley:

I would highly recommend these two companies to anyone with an Impreza.

Not only is it amazing to drive, it's incredibly practical. I've fitted my snowboard, mountain bike and even an entire pro extreme kart with both 200cc engines inc bumpers and nose cones in the boot of the Impreza.
Even "boring" drives are fun! So, very, very happy with my car!

Very nice. The dyno print out is interesting, assuming these are flywheel figures, power and torque are almost exactly the same as the '99 PPP (240ps/350Nm), which uses maf and standard airbox. Presumably yours is a kind of base map to get you going until the turbo/injectors/heads/exhaust upgrade?

IMO it's the best colour for an Impreza...or certainly for a classic anyway. Colour code: 52D.

I did a search and the torque for a 99 PPP seems to be around the 260Nm mark? Then again, I'm probably way off, my googling ability isn't the best.
I do believe the map is not very aggressive.

According to Prodrive's own brochure, '99 PPP is 350Nm, which is about 260 ft/lbs.

I'll put this down to it being a non aggressive map.
In sept I'll post up the dyno results from after the upgrades...should see a massive increase.
