Default impreza number 2...........

just picked up my second impreza-hopefully have better luck with this one

its a blobeye sti in wr blue

quick spec list

2.5 ej 257 engine (new from subaru)
Mahle competition pistons
Carillo rods
V9 crank ( new from subaru)
Billet fly wheel 6.2 kg
Exedy 6 paddle clutch
650 injectors
Balanced bottom end
Arp head stud kit
Acl race bearings
Cosworth head gasket kit
Hyper flow top mount oil cooler
Hks hi flo exhaust system
Howard and Scott de cat bell mouth down pipes
rcm headers (ceramic coated)
Down pipe (ceramic coated)
Gt3071r bb turbo (ceramic coated)
Perrin stealth fmic
Light weight pulley kit
Good ridge oil feed pipes
Good ridge stainless brake pipes
Hks bov
Rcm ally catch tank with sump return
Dc sport titanium strut brace
Bc coil overs
White line 24mm arb
Adjustable alloy drop links
Alloy brackets
Charge speed carbon bonnet
Charge speed carbon air dams
Perrin top panel
Perrin hose kit
Defi gauges boost oil temp oil pressure with control box
Rota grids 18. 8.5
Engine built @ zen and mapped by Paul blamier

the car has a few niggles, one of the ****e bc coilovers on the rear is knocking its **** off and the carbon bonnet needs relacquering.apart from the usual few marks from a 10 year old car its very very clean

its still only a scdb with no inserts etc so i cant push it too much so power wise i will stick some bigger injectors in it and have a map tweak hoping for 450-460bhp,its around 436bhp @ the minute and its far from slow and being the 2.5 it just pulls in every gear

future plans

- set of ap 6 pots

- some gold wheels either rota boosts or revolution milleniums

- move the defi controller to the drinks holder

- fit a splitter

- paint the fmic in silver

i dont have many pics at the min so its just these ****ty ones

With reference to your comment on the other thread. I'd be getting the bonnet painted anyway so you wouldn't need to go to the trouble of having it lacquered.

I'm definitely interested in the ducts if the other buyer isn't sure

Nice car, bet it flies. I do like the grunt of the 2.5.

Was going to say, when you get it lacquered, get a bit of paint over it first might work with leaving the vents carbon, but would look so much better without a black bonnet.

Really nice spec it's got mate and as I said total steal, maybe some rear rubber inserts would cure the knocking, not sure about the bonnet, more due to rain getting in and messing the bay up than it actually offending me, also don't much like it being a different colour, unless the whole car was black I would probably paint it the same as the car or maybe do the roof and boot the same, would probably look good with a duck tail carbon boot and carbon roof

I also probably wouldn't map it anymore either if it's happy as it is, if it ain't broke don't fix it and all that, defo get some AP's it would be rude not to.

Most of all though mate just take your time and enjoy it, i'm sure you'll make it your own over time.

where can i get rubber inserts from for the bc's?

im not doing the roof and i really dont like the duck-tail spoilers.i wouldnt mind a rear window spoiler in carbon though

your probably right on the mapping................

i have some genuine sti fog covers as i dont like the carbon ducts so will see how she looks then

Not sure about the rubber inserts but I think newer bc's or the br series are supplied with them, just heard them mentioned on here. just looking at the pics again and I know what it is about the bonnet, it's the scoop being blue that doesn't look right to my eyes. Shame about the duck tail as I think it's more about the whole look of the car than the duck tail it'self if you get my meaning, maybe black jun sport grills would make the carbon ducts blend better.

I think you could make it look quite a beast to match the performance, but if you want to keep the bonnet black the theme needs to carry through the car, may be some wider offset wheels and abw arch extensions in black, just throwing ideas at ya. I bet you got **** loads running through your head, ps I'd keep the scoop It kind of defines the impreza for me.

But hey your car, your choice don't let a runt like me push you around big fella.

hahaha nobody pushes me around

to be honest on my last impreza i had the wide wheels and i didnt like the way it drove so i dont think i will be going that route again

maybe keep it standard looking so its a bit of a sleeper

I know on the other thread you said you want more power, but i would rethink that a little,it seem's to be a very well built motor delivering a nice torquey drive, but the 2.5 block seem's to only be happy at certain power figures, and i would lean more on the side of safe reliable power then chase numbers,it is a lovely motor though with bags of further potential, but just play safe buddy.SJ.

Also I thought the car was mapped by dynamix, I remember the original owner matt telling me he was having it done.

it could of been matts previous impreza though, i know one of them was mapped by dunc.
this one should be a far better car than your old one anyway.
it used to have a carbon boot on it at one time without a spoiler if i remember.

Bonnet is growing on me, I quite like the wheels too, why not just do a colour change and then you could spend the cash saved on a burger flap for the roof.
