Hi all, we have just purchased our first Scooby together, a MY00 classic turbo 2000, totally standard at the moment with the exception of a STI exhaust, really happy with it, and planning on doing a few bits to it. Just wanted to say hi, and that we are looking forward to getting involved in the community, we are in Norfolk, near kings Lynn, not sure if there are any clubs around here, but will be researching soon.

hi guys, thanks for the welcome, the stickers were on when we bought it, the only issues I can find so far, are the obligatory slight rust bubbles over rear arches and the headlights were set at weird heights, which ive adjusted now. Loving that nice burble from the exhaust, and the fact its not too loud for the neighbours.

Nice classic, get the arches done asap though as once winter gets here that rust will get worse, i left mine, and it costs alot more to repair when they get bad.

Unfortunately the rear arches rot from the inside out so once you start digging you will probably find its even worse so will cost a few bob but it's do able if you can find a decent place to have it done

Prices range from £150 a side upwards. I did mine on the cheap as i'd done this years ago on a Nova rubbed down rust treated and resprayed, and took bout 4 years to come back, tried it on Scooby came back in less than 12 months

So worth getting that rust cut out. And it will only go up in price as they all rust on the arches and most people don't repair arches. Cars end up scraped

Thanks for all the advice guys, quotes are going to be coming in for the arches before the winter, brakes and oil change done this weekend, just to be safe, and tonight was spent putting in some better lightbulbs and a nice new panel air filter, nice to finally have a car where things are fairly easy to sort out, so far not one bolt or screw has given me any problem, with the exception of the headlights near the battery, my hands didn't fit very well in that gap!

Not wishing to worry you, but get the arches looked at before spending too much elsewhere. It can get as bad as this:

Classic Impreza and rust

Arches were done this week, really pleased with the result, plus the chap put on the rally mudflaps for me too, took 3 days for the arches, all cut out, rewelded, resealed and resprayed, inner and outer arches, all in £719 including VAT, which I didn't think was too bad at all.
