Default Post your jTi Toucan installations.

As above please guys & girls.

Finally got around to buying the bomber a Toucan. Interested to see where you have fitted yours and how useable it is in the location you have chosen.

Thanks

Frayz

It does vibrate a little over bumps, but it was a compromise between a solid mounting, and having it within easy reach, also wanted it close to eye-line. It hasn't caused me any problems to date.

Direct from ECU for some data, you can also get a sensor pack for oil pressure etc.

Nope, it does it's job just as well down there, it's more for monitoring peak values etc so it dosen't need to be in my face.

I removed mine from the vent Frayz, was a proper pain in the **** and was constantly moving around especially under heavy cornering.

Mine would be built into a custom housing so wouldn't have that issue. It's the look and usability I need to get right.

If you are building a custom housing frayz the to the left of center vent parallel with a slight tilt toward drivers vision?

Post a pic of your interior.

My exact thoughts mate. Passenger side vent in a custom housing and keep the drivers side vent and hazard button.
The stereo panel will have only the rotary cal switch and that's it.

Paul I don't want anything above the dash top. So apillar and clock housings are a no go.

I'd go for the vent location then as I agree the stereo is too low. The prefacelift is worse as the center section of the dash is so low.

The only thing I think about the stero location is the whole purpose of me ditching all my gauges is that I de clutter the dash. The stero location looks very very oem.

Gussy that looks pretty good mate.

These were my first initial thoughts.

Looked at how they would go in.

So

Options:-

A) custom housing on the steering column.

+ right in my view and eye level.
- obscures oem binnacle so not ideal, maybe???

B) Custom housing in the drivers side air vent.

+ again at eye level and easy to see.
- means making another pod, losing the vent yet again, spoils the clean lines of the dash. Doesn't really look oem.

C) in the place of the stereo,

+ looks mega oem, very tidy and out of my way to concentrate on driving rather than watching meters as before. Kinda the whole exercise to swap out the Defis.
- not in my eyeline, do I need it to be?

What are your thoughts?

Needed at eye level or not so much?

Have seen those I think the radio hole would give the best oem look but only if like dunk your using it to check peak figures afterwards.
