Default My UK Turbo 2000 - Mia

Morning all!

Here's my baby, bought her a couple of months ago & slowly getting her my way.

When i bought her, she was very much standard with just 74K miles on the clock, only upgrades were EBC front discs & pads, 2.5" catback exhaust system & that beautiful front bumper splitter.

How she looked when i got her

Very low mileage!

She did only have about 3 weeks MOT though when i bought her, so with that came the need for new tyres & a couple of other minor bits, managed to pick up these 18s instead for a reasonable price

She was then given a full machine polish to remove lots of swirls in the paintwork.

Stayed like this for around 4 weeks whilst i was busy with other things then i bought a Bailey Dump Valve (i know some dont like these but i do) & some more new wheels for a very reasonable price

Bailey Dump Valve

New Wheels, Inovit Redline's

Fitted the Inovit's last week, with them having 225/40/18 tyres though, they rubbed extermely on the rear arches, now reshaped the inner lip though so i think ive sorted it lol

Looking lovely now! Cant stop looking out of the window at her.

Did this one too to have put on Canvas :P

The Mrs has said i can have it in the living room too!

This week i will be buying a 3" catback exhaust system hopefully!

I have some HIDs ready to go in & also have a triple gauge pod for the centre of the dash but need to buy me some gauges yet

Mike.

It looks nice although IMO it looked just as good on the standard 16's. It seems that some people change the wheels just for the sake of it.

Agree with the above comment. OSRAM Nightbreakers bulbs are a much better upgrade than HID's and way cheaper. Good Classics are getting rarer and if you keep it normal and not too molested it will return with interest.

Exactly what I've done with my Turbo 2000 . Fitted OSRAM Nightbreakers just a few days after I got mine.

Everything i fit can be removed easily enough should i choose to. Still have the original wheels in storage for this very reason.

Those nightbreakers are good but im a HID fan, that Silver scoob thats in the pics there is mine too & i have HID's in that, very much prefer them over any bulbs.

Took her out last night for a run & it seems im still catching the arches a little over speed bumpbs so need to take another look at it.

Aye, but the silver classic has Morette's fitted which don't scatter the light all over. Or something like that, ask Alcazar.

Anyway, almost sorted my running problems now, had the car loaded up yesterday & barely rubbed

Now ordered the exhaust system which should be here later this week i hope.

Update time, since i last posted here i have been very busy with work commitments but a couple of things have been done on Mia.

Gave the engine bay a good clean up, took a while but well worthwhile
Before

After

Then picked up a Strut brace locally at a nice price too

Then came across some STi clear rear lights for just £80, couldnt miss out on these as i wanted some anyway, a lot happier with them over the standard lights, also picked up some colour coded side skirts & rear bumper spats for £20 (spats not fitted at this point)

Making good use of a beautiful car

Then last week i got my 3" sport cat downpipe & fitted the full turbo back system, rear spats now fitted too.
Old System

New System

Love the sound of this system and because it also has a removeable bung, my neighbours love it too!

Also fitted silicone turbo hoses & clear side indicators but dont have any pics of these yet.

Got a set of silicone coolant hoses to fit & refresh the coolant before winter too

I used some Autoglymn Engine Cleaner & a very basic £15 steam cleaner. Took a lot of effort but it was well worth in the end, will probably be redone after the winter now & hopefully tidy my engine bay up a little more too.

Thank you, never liked the sound on the old one, it was neither here nor there, sounded quite poor to me

I can tell them cheap ebay exhausts from a miles off

Why keep the bung in though, can't see it doing your car any good bud, i had jap exhaust and you will notice power gain without bung

Nice result on the engine bay. Looks like a tidy car especially for its age.

I think your strut brace is on the wrong way round by the way, I've never seen one run anywhere but behind the intercooler.

The bung is removed from the exhaust once im out of my street, doesnt make for too much hassle as this car isnt used daily.

I believe that this strut brace is designed to be this way around, the car it came off had it on this way too lol confused me at first so i did check the fitment the normal way around but not a chance

Looks a nice car mate..not 100% on the white wheels i must admit but all in all very nice. My only advice would be to remove the bailey dv.. if you want one fair enough but ide go forge or somthing simlar, bailey are turd :-) ide try the gold gra,s on yours off the silver one.

+1

Forge or GFB are probably the best out there.
