Default 1999' Subaru Impreza UK Turbo 2000

Dates in correct descending order (most recent first)

Update 8/2/14 -
Spent all day Saturday and finishing off Sunday morning machine polishing my car. I need to get a bottom-end Nikon DSLR camera because iPhone 5 photo's aren't the best for showing off the bodywork! Still... the silver paintwork is like a mirror .

Update 10/9/14 -
Finally managed to source a great condition original steering wheel . Interior perfect now.

Update 13/8/14 -
Standard gear **** fitted easily once I got the Mono **** off ...Made a right mess of the Mono **** because I didn't know that the bottom half of the neck unscrewed to reveal 2 grub screws! I thought someone had just used thread lock which is why it was extremely tight. When I finally got it off the grub screws were munched and the Mono **** ruined as I used large stillsons to get it off . Only the steering wheel and OEM callipers left to go .

Update 11/8/14 -
Got the car back from the body shop for a tidy up including front and rear bumper respray plus a few other minor dings sorted. She's looking even better now; stunning condition for a 15 year old car in my opinion. Still planning to get some refurbished OEM Subaru front callipers soonish and I've put the original side lights back on for that true OEM look so will be selling the crystal set. Here's a few quick snaps with my smaller camera. Unfortunately it doesn't bring out the reflections in the paintwork like my DSLR Nikon.

I love the front end of the classics because they look so unique and different compared to most cars... this looks really mean!

25/5/14 -
I've owned my Impreza for almost 2 months now and she is great to drive. She's on 70,400 miles and is near completely standard other than an OMP race wheel and Mono gear **** fitted by the previous owner and I've had Tein lowering springs (with geometry setup) and crystal front side lights fitted. This is the way she will be staying because I believe a car like this is becoming harder to find in this sort of standard condition. My only other plans for her are to fit some original black 'Subaru' 4 pot front callipers because she currently has some naff 'WRX PRO' callipers which have obviously replaced the originals at some point in her life. I'd also like to get the front and rear bumpers resprayed and a few dings taken out.

I was finally able to get out and give her a clean and take some half decent pictures so here they are:

5/4/14 -
The day she looked when I first got her home and after a clean. IMO riding a little high on standard springs but I plan to keep as standard as possible.

Cheers

love it, standard and clean, even got the tape player!

how are you finding the Tein springs? I'm considering taking mine off soon in favour of a set of BC's.

Oh and I need that steering wheel!

I'm finding the springs great. Before it used to under steer quite a lot and it was easy to slide when giving it some round the corners, but now it holds the road a lot better. Although the guy at Powerstation who fitted my springs said the geometry setup would actually make the biggest difference. The car obviously sits better too and I haven't noticed any difference in ride comfort.

Thanks for the comments so far everyone.

Unfortunately not mate. I'm moving into my new house in 2 months so all my priorities and funds are focused on that. I can't really afford to spank £1-1.5k on a complete new setup and everything that goes with it right now. I would love to though! I just need to be sensible

I paid £600 cash for front and rear bumpers, a large ding in the door and a noticeable dent in the rear quarter. My front bumper was heavily chipped and a bit of the top coat was coming off near the fog lights so I'm really glad it's all done now .

I ordered a standard gear **** 2 days ago off eBay otherwise I would have taken you up on that offer! Also looking at a standard mono steering wheel (do you have one?), then it'll be perfect looks-wise . Cheers for the comment!

Try and find a good MY99/00 Momo STI steering wheel.

It'll be a straight fit on yours, but, I fitted one to mine a while back.

I have one available, if OP is interested?

It's in extremely good condition. Has very minor little dings/blemishes (but all are out of sight, not on the front face). The front aspect looks like new.

If OP is interested, I can post pics...

Cheers Andy, I told you I'd look after it . Got the winter wheels on at the moment so the alloys look a bit worse for wear but they're OK.

Cheers! Defiantly Rally Day again at Castle Combe (one of the best events and great for enthusiast's as the quality of original examples is very good) and possibly TOTB depending on the dates. Would love to be on a stand but I need to get my alloys refurbished and ideally some genuine refurbished Subaru callipers for her to be perfect but unfortunately that's at the bottom of my priorities.

Sold it this morning back to its previous owner, Andy, who I know will look after it and keep it original. 77,130 miles. It's been a great year and half of ownership. All the best!

Really nice. Have you thought about colour coding the door handles mirrors and side skirts and rear bumper trim?

Just a thought, as i though v5 and v6 models were all colour coded standard, or was it just v6 models. Either way it will look amazing if you did.
