My white spec c restoration thread
Well guys,
Back again in another impreza,
The k1 was stunning, quick, fully loaded. But I really missed my Subaru.
I thought this time buy white, so I don't have to do it.
Rough spec,
2003 (53) spec c limited,
Has some creature comforts, electric Windows and air conditioning.
35k with extensive service history.
The interior is mint, as is the mechanical.
The body needs addressing but that's my job,
Plans are to make it oem goodness.

Like I say it needs my touch to get it to the level and standard I'm happy with,
One thing though, did think it would be quicker, it's only mapped for uk fuel. And is all oem engine wise bar a heywood and Scott de res section, app rr 312 bhp,

Looks in mint condition!
Love the BBS wheels too..
Might be worth investing in a Milltek exhaust, remap should see you to around 350 bhp and 375 lb ft.

Yeah, it's got potential, the pics make it look better body wise than it is, few pin dents about, needs a good polish and clean up,
Not many stone chips though.
Decat fuel pump and map, would be nice, need to research twin scroll, app the decals different lol

hey guys
so with the new car, comes the start of cleaning,,,,AGAIN.....
so here we go, the car was in a genuine condition,
some of the dirty pics

inside the boot,some one had fitted the normal grey boot carpet and side panels, however the spec c doesnt have the attachment tabs lol
so it looked a mess, so ripped them out haha

all the shuts were cleaned with near neat g101, this is very good at stripping crap off,
i also used brake cleaner to get the hinges sparkling. using a good brush
the outside i used a mix of shampoo and g101 so it would hang and soak well,
i stuck this through my snow foam gun, cos im cool and all..

all the trims, rubbers edges were brushed again,

i did the wash before work, started at 7am, and finished at 9am shocking!! i did under bonnet too, but not the engine
so ill save those pics for now,
at lunch i stuck the car on the ramp, took the winter wheels off and cleaned the bbs, sadly i messed my iso up and you cant actually
see the pics
i also did under the arches with g101,

one thing i mentioned was the paint in the boot, it had something spilt in there and tony had some one refresh it, sadly

once clean i used a factory primer, followed by gloss white, i then redid the sealer and once dry tomorrow this too
will get a dusting of white overspray, speaking of over spray i need to clean my jack now, tomorrow i will fit the factory spare
when i start cleaning the paint and seats...
here are the final pics on the bbs wheels, tomorrow im machine polishing, wet vaccing and sealing, ready for some pdr.

the plan with this one is to get it looking like new, ill prob remap it and thats it,
few niggles ive found so far,
heater has a hiss noise when blowing
theres a vibration around the headunit at 2500rpm
the brakes feel a bit wooden
im debting decatting, app they are different on these??

Stage two is finished all the cleaning of interior and under bonnet

Also found out why the brakes feel hard. They have performance friction z pads in. I'm guna get rid for some oe prefer the feel. Is there a market for lightly used pads.

so,
the contiunation of the cleaning, er continutes
todays focus, the interior
i started of by using an air line and blower, to get rid of loose crud, after this
i used a steam cleaner on all the plastics and upholstery, this sanitizes all the surfaces, this
followed by a wet vac, with a atomized interior shampoo...
the interior was then blown clean to remove excess water, all plastics cleaned with g101 cleaner
and then dressed with autosmart pazza, this dries satin finish, the windows were cleaned with autoglym
window cleaner, and then sealed with gtechiq g1 glass sealent,then fitted new aero wipers

i also turned my attention to the boot, heres the finished sealer, with white overspary.

then the space saver cleaned and put back in.

next was under the bonnet,

and aggitated with a 2" soft brush,,

Well timed that jake, I was just over on 22b looking at your project thinking damn that is a bloody lovely car. Credit to you mate clearly you know what your doing when it comes to the cleaning side of things. I really like it mate. Please don't start modifying it. Don't get me wrong it's your car, but I think in the long run you would regret altering such a cracking car!
